At my practice, I offer lots of different types of counselling services – from individual sessions to group therapy. It all depends on what each client needs and what they’ll benefit from. Because a lot of my clients lead busy lives, I also offer online and telephone counselling if that suits their schedule better. Although I always suggest coming in for a face-to-face session now and then, as these are often very helpful.
To be a certified counsellor, you need to have a Level 4 qualification in counselling. This can be as a diploma, or at a degree or postgraduate level. I chose to go down the university route by undertaking a BSc Hons in Psychology & Counselling. This meant that I got a degree and was accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am now a registered counsellor with over 10 years of experience and have completed a number of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules.
Most of my clients have certain goals in mind when it comes to their therapy. Often they want to resolve issues which are causing difficulties in their lives. This may be problems in their personal relationships that they want help working through. It could be with their partner, family, friends, or work colleagues. Or they may want to develop coping mechanisms to help deal with their own mental health. But often these can interlink. For example, if a client is wanting help with their personal relationships, this often has a positive knock-on effect on their own mental health.

I saw Zac for around a year and half ranging from weekly sessions to bi-weekly sessions. With Zac I was able to discuss and reflect on issues in my current life and also in my past. Zac was great at helping me to look at incidents in my past and understand how it would affect how I think and act. Zac taught me many skills and techniques that have helped me put much needed boundaries in my life which in the long term protect my mental well being. Seeing Zac for that period of time was like I was an actor in the middle of a theatre show, only focused on my lines and my actions, but with Zac’s kind, non-judgemental and open approach I was able to become the director of my own show, seeing it in full from the outside. I can’t thank Zac enough for his patience and his willingness to allow me to express how I feel and how I think in my own unique way. Zac accepted me for who I was and he helped me to accept who I was and most importantly, be happy with that and love myself. As I type this, it makes me cry to think how much he helped me and I will greatly miss our sessions!! THANK YOU ZAC!!

I worked with Sage for over a year after deciding to speak to someone about my health anxiety. I can’t recommended him enough. Sage helped me identify causes from my past and importantly triggers in current daily life which were exacerbating my anxiety. He provided me with resources, practical tools and techniques, which I continue to use, which have allowed me to combat the majority of my anxiety symptoms and negative thoughts. My daily life has been completely transformed for the better!
