Daniel Picave (Counselling)

Daniel Picave (Counselling) offers counselling to private clients in three key areas of life stress - relationships, grief and individuals. Now, that sounds good but what does it mean? Firstly, you should know we only work with 25 clients at any one time. That makes us a small practice and that is our choice. Why only 25? Because that means that we can focus on you. We can zoom in on your story and really help. The help we give is not limited to the one hour a week that you might spend with us. As a client, you have access to us 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Daniel Picave is a relationship counsellor for busy millennials. What does that mean? That means couples and individuals in their late twenties and thirties. We recognise that life is stressful and full of distractions and conflicting obligations. We also recognise that relationships sometimes end, so we provide two services in this area. Our first service helps clients reconnect and return a relationship to a healthy footing. We encourage couples to work with mindfulness as a means of building a loving, reinvigorated relationship. Often the single biggest issue in a relationship is awareness, each partner simply is not aware of what the other one is going through. We open up those channels of communication. The flipside of this coin is we also work with clients who want to end their relationship. Relationships do end, it is the circle of life. However, relationships do not need to end leaving everyone involved twisted and bitter. We work closely with the partners to ensure they can both exit the relationship in a mutually fair way and ready to move on. Grief can be a condition which clings to you for years if it is not addressed. Daniel Picave provides counselling for clients suffering from grief in all its forms - the loss of a loved one, a traumatic life event like losing a job or the breakdown of a relationship. Don't let unresolved grief colour your days and hamper your life, work with us and release it. Finally, like everyone, we are all striving to be the best version of ourselves. Daniel Picave works with individual clients to remove the obstacles in their life and release the potential which is within all of us. Daniel Picave is part the Daniel Picave Group. We have two sister brands which are also serving people just like you. https://www.mckenziepicave.com - McKenzie Picave (Family Law Support Service), can work with couples splitting up. We provide support through the family court system to orchestrate a divorce (if that is needed), child arrangements and/or financial arrangements. At the Daniel Picave Group we know that sometimes everyone needs to share their story, so we invite you to share yours with us.

What do you love most about your job?

As a counsellor, I am not sat in my chair with all the answers. The aspect I love the most about my job is the journey I take with the client. Each journey is different. Each story is different. Everyone is unique. We discover the answers together. My role is to act as guide as the client explores their own life to find the best route to follow, I love that.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I think it was the need to be individual which prompted me to launch the counselling business. I recognised that just as each of my clients has their own story to share, so do I. My story needs me to be master of my destiny and in a position to help other people with the turmoil and struggles in their life.

I have lived through some dark days in my life with personal grief and trauma. I would hate to think that anyone else is living those same dark days without my reaching out to help, to provide some light.

Why should our clients choose you?

I can only really share the opinions of previous clients in answering this question. People say I have an open and honest approach. People say that the connection between them and me grows week on week and becomes very real and almost tangible.

We refer to the Daniel Picave Group as the Picaverse. All our wonderful staff are members of the Picaverse and for the time they are with us, all of our clients are members too.

Remember, we only work with 25 clients at any one time, so we can really focus on them. If you are one of the 25, hopefully we make you feel quite special in that regard.

When I welcome a new client into our counselling, they immediately become so much more than just a client. They become part of our family and shrouded in our pastoral care. We take the fact you have chosen to put your faith in us very seriously, very seriously indeed.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

We can provide our counselling service through Zoom but we are always keen to encourage our clients to engage in face to face (in the same room) sessions as often as possible.

One of the cornerstones of good counselling is the connection formed between the counsellor and client. At Daniel Picave, we value that connection more highly than any other aspect of the relationship.

We are happy to combine face to face sessions with Zoom sessions if that is more convenient for the client.

We also offer home visits or neutral location visits (like a coffee shop for example) when it is appropriate to do so.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

We use video conferencing. We observe social distancing in our offices. Masks are worn during the client sessions unless the client feels more comfortable without (social distancing is observed). All staff are vaccinated.
