I help people achieve a healthier lifestyle by developing a nutritional plan that works for them, tailored to their own individual needs and lifestyle. By giving practical advice on diet and nutrition I aim to help clients establish a healthy relationship with food and nutrition, to ensure improvements in health are sustained long-term. I draw on 35 years experience of working in the diagnostics field in the NHS.

I specialise in weight management and energy medicine using my Qest4 machine which can really help pinpoint underlying health issues and bring about good health and energy very quickly. I am a Zest4Life associate, working closely with Patrick Holford on an extremely practical way of eating. I prefer not to call it a diet as it really is a new way of life. As a trained Zest4Life Health and Nutrition Coach I can empower you to make the best nutritious choices for yourself.

I am currently taking part in a detox with a twist and Tracy's bio-resonance screening - a method of revealing potential food sensitivities at time of testing - seemed like the perfect place to start. The detox, which is based on the 'Whole Detox' by Dr Deanna Minnich, has been organised locally by Tracy's colleague at Lushington Chiropractic, Nutritional Therapist Michaela Jezzard and thanks to the introductory talk for this, I met Tracy and was subsequently able to benefit from a consultation with her.
Tracy's professional approach and kind manner instantly made me feel at ease discussing health and food-related issues. I am now more aware of potential food groups that I didn't realise I needed to avoid or at least while taking part in this detox journey! As for some of the groups that came up which were not a surprise for me (eg wheat and dairy) I felt that this was proof enough that the machine worked!
Thank you again, Tracy.
Zoe Thurston is a fully qualified and registered Nutritional Therapist, providing nutrition coaching to individuals. An individual nutrition consultation provides you with the time and attention to review your diet in light of your own particular health goals and health history. Zoe is able to cut through the generic health advice and the often conflicting scientific research to provide personalised recommendations. She can adapt her advice to your own particular circumstances and restrictions so that together you can agree an action plan that is workable in your own reality. The consultation process helps you to understand the science behind how food could better support your health and takes you right through to the detail of discussing recipes and foods you could prepare. This encourages you to feel motivated to change your diet and supported to make those changes.
Eating well can make a huge difference to how we feel day to day. We often think of food as fuel, thinking mainly in terms of the energy it provides, however, the contribution of food to our wellbeing is much more far reaching. Food provides us with the building blocks to build and maintain our bodies and all of the complex processes within it. For example, sugar provides us with energy but without nutrients such as B vitamins and magnesium we are unable to convert that sugar to energy. If we are eating a diet low in nutrients, processes within our body will be functioning sub-optimally and we are more likely to feel below par, be plagued by niggling health concerns, infections, and be ageing poorly. As a result, clients will generally come to me with a particular health concern, and finish the consultations with the happy side effect of just feeling generally better.
I find it hugely rewarding to help people to feel better, whether that be that they have more energy, are managing a health problem better, or looking better. I have always enjoyed problem solving and I love helping clients to find a way to fit good nutrition into their lives - giving the tools and the confidence to make long term changes to how they eat.
I have always been interested in health, although, I have to admit my own diet wasn't exactly perfect in my 20s! Once I started to look into nutrition I found it fascinating and I'm very passionate that more people should know more about this and understand how it is relevant to them! Often people don't simply like being told what to do and personalised nutrition advice is a great way to explain to someone why a particular recommendation really is relevant to them as an individual but also to help them to make it do-able in their own life.
I feel in a strong position to understand the challenges of making changes to how you eat. I am a busy working mum and I have previously pursued a stressful corporate career. I have revolutionalised my own diet in order to feel better and support my health. When I was growing up I really wasn't taught much by way of cooking skills so I have taught myself - cooking food that is good for you but not very tasty really doesn't cut it when you are cooking for the family! Feedback from clients is that I am approachable, friendly and great at working around obstacles. Added to this I enjoy analysing problems and coming up with solutions, and I received a Distinction when I qualified in Nutritional Therapy.
