How many sessions with a Life Coach will I need?

You can have as many or as few life coaching sessions as you like. Many life coaches operate over the phone or via the Internet so the sessions can easily fit around your schedule. Some people hire a life coach once every few months, some people have a session once a week.

What happens during a Life Coaching session?

Life coaching sessions will typically last up to an hour. Often after an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted over the phone, face to face, over email, via Skype/Zoom and occasionally through instant messaging.

What is the difference between Life Coaching and Therapy?

Life coaching is focused on your present and your future. Coaching accepts your current reality and looks to improve your outcome moving forward. Life coaches are not health professionals and they do not diagnose you. By contrast, therapy focuses on your past and looks to delve into past actions and patterns. It is analytical but not action-oriented.

Does insurance pay for a Life Coach?

Most mainstream health insurance providers do not cover the costs of life coaching because it is not considered a mental health profession in the same way therapists and counsellors are because life coaches are not state-regulated.

Can I find Life Coaching online on Bark?

Absolutely! It's easy to connect with trusted online life coaching specialists on Bark. Just tell us what you need and we'll connect you with professionals ready and waiting to provide their services remotely.

Like face-face life coaching, an online life coach can help you to define your goals, understand your motivations and build a plan to achieve your dreams. The only difference being that your coaching sessions will be done via Zoom, Skype or over the phone! It’s an ideal option for anyone with a particularly hectic schedule or accessibility issues.

Online life coaching classes mean you can get the most out of your personal or business life, giving you the motivation you need to advance your career or begin your own business from the comfort of your own home!

Whether you’re struggling with low self-esteem or you just don’t know what to do with your life, taking that step to find online life coaching may be exactly what you need to find your direction and follow your dreams.

What should I look for in a Life Coach?

Life coaches do not need to have any formal or academic qualifications but you may want to look for life coaches who possess an industry-specific qualification such as the Life Coaching Diploma or Personal Performance Diploma (PPD).

What does a Life Coach do for you?

A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide individuals to make, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strength and abilities. This can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring your potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions.

By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, life coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings to confidently face difficult challenges and overcome emotional barriers. Think of a life coach as your personal coach, cheering you on and giving you motivation whilst holding you accountable.

Life coaches can specialise in one area of coaching which includes: career coaching, executive business, group coaching, health and wellbeing, performance management, personal development, relationships, retirement, spiritual and youth coaching.

When you find a life coach who you can really connect with, you’ll unlock potential you never knew you had. Life coaches can help you to set realistic and achievable goals and remove any obstacles that are in your way. They will help you to make the most of your strengths and give you the support you need to make lasting changes to your life.

How do I find the right Life Coach?

Rapport is one of the most important parts of life coaching. If you feel uncomfortable with your professional, you are unlikely to gain much from the session. It is advisable to get in contact before you book a session to meet your life coach so you can gauge how comfortable you are in their presence. It is worth talking to a few potential life coaches and ask questions.

How much does a Life Coach cost?

On average, a Life Coach will charge around £50 per session. Although, this is variable depending on different factors, such as your location and the experience of the Life Coach.

If you’re ready to find Life Coaching near you but need a clear idea of the price, read our handy Life Coach price guide. You’ll find out just how much your Life Coach will charge per session and what Life Coaching services typically include.

The ability to make a positive impact on someone's life, helping them discover their potential, shift their mindset, and achieve their goals, brings me immense joy. The authentic connections formed during our coaching sessions, the trust built, and the knowledge that I'm contributing to my clients' overall well-being make life coaching a truly fulfilling and purposeful endeavour for me.

What inspired you to start your own business?

The inspiration behind starting my life coaching business stems from a deeply personal journey of overcoming significant life challenges. Having experienced and triumphed over obstacles such as weight loss, relationship changes, career shifts, mental health struggles, and the pursuit of financial freedom, I was motivated to share my learnings and insights with others.

My own transformative experiences ignited a passion for helping individuals navigate similar challenges and unlock their full potential. The desire to offer support and guidance to those seeking positive change, coupled with a genuine belief in the power of mindset and lifestyle adjustments, became the driving force behind establishing my coaching practice.

Additionally, my genuine connection with people, fostered through community engagement in sports, podcasting, and blogging, played a pivotal role. Witnessing the impact of sharing personal stories and insights on a broader audience fueled my commitment to creating a space where individuals could receive personalized coaching to overcome hurdles and pursue the lives they truly desire. In essence, my business is a manifestation of a personal mission to empower others through shared experiences and proven strategies for personal development and growth.

Relatable Conversations: Clients can expect a coaching environment that feels like talking to a friend rather than a clinical coach. Our one-on-one sessions are characterized by open, relatable conversations, creating a safe space for them to share, explore, and grow.

Continuous Learning: I am dedicated to continuous learning and professional development. Staying updated on the latest trends, research, and coaching methodologies ensures that clients receive the most relevant and effective guidance for their unique situations.

Community Engagement: My involvement in sports, podcasting, group workshops and blogging reflects a commitment to community engagement. Client-Centric Approach: I prioritize the unique needs and goals of each client. Our one-on-one sessions are tailored to address specific challenges, and I work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized strategies that align with their aspirations.

End Goal of Empowerment: Unlike simply retaining clients, my ultimate goal is to equip individuals with the tools and mindset needed to navigate life independently. I aim for clients to no longer require my services, having gained the confidence and skills to move forward with purpose and fulfillment.

In essence, clients should choose me as their life coach for a personalized, transformative, and empowering coaching experience grounded in authenticity, relatability, and a proven commitment to their success.

The 10 week Self Mastery programme was such a valuable experience. It was engaging, insightful, and packed with practical tools and strategies that I’ve already started using in both my personal and professional life. What made it even better was the remote format where it brought together people from all over the UK, and it was amazing how strong the connections became. Many of us have stayed in touch even after the programme ended, which says a lot about the community it helped create. One of the biggest takeaways for me was gaining a better understanding of myself; especially where my energy goes and how it’s affected by different things. Having access to coaches throughout the week was a huge bonus too. They were always there if I had questions or wanted some extra exercises to go deeper. Overall, it was a really eye opening and supportive journey, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to work on themselves and grow.

Completing the 10-week Mastery program was a transformative experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to Tara’s presence, leadership, and insight. Tara brings such a calm, grounded, and powerful energy to the space. She holds the group with compassion and strength, creating an environment where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Her ability to ask the right questions, challenge your thinking gently, and reflect back your truth is something really special. If you’re looking for clarity, direction, or just a deeper connection to yourself, Tara creates the kind of space where that work becomes not only possible — but deeply fulfilling. Her approach is intuitive yet structured, caring yet direct. You feel safe to go deep, to explore, and to grow — all while being part of a community that’s equally committed to showing up for themselves and each other. I’d recommend working with Tara and doing Mastery to anyone who’s ready to take that next step in their personal growth. It’s more than a course — it’s a journey back to yourself, and Tara is an exceptional guide.
