Naturally Good Coaching

As a coach, the approach I take is based primarily on the client's needs and circumstances. Some require help with a specific challenge; some feel stuck in repetitive patterns they want to change; others want a framework in which they can develop their understanding and perspective of the world and their place in it. In all cases I offer support and encouragement, and find ways to identify and build on each person's unique strengths. I use my own unique strengths and experience to listen, reflect and stimulate your own desire for growth, solutions and a more fulfilling life. Although technically I've been a coach for only a few years, in fact I've been coaching for much of my adult life. Always fascinated by people, my four years studying acting and directing was an intense period of learning about human behaviour (not least my own), unusually rooted in cognitive & behavioural science, and neuroscience. For many years following, I deepened my understanding of psychology and relationships as a director and teacher, and have continued to develop my interest in thinking - how it operates and how it shows in our lives - ever since. In addition to my coaching certifications, I have extensively read about and listened to the work of many coaches and coaching schools. I have my own coach and mentor. I have worked in a variety of organisations and industries, as employee, CEO and Trustee. While all organisations are different, my experience broadly concurs with Gallup's research on engagement at work - less than 20% of employees actually are engaged at work. Given the amount of time we spend working, this is a sad state of affairs where I am inspired to make a difference, in no small part by emphasising the role personal meaning has to play in the workplace - in connection to a broader, shared vision. I am father to two grown up children, have been divorced and remarried, and bring a sense of fun, challenge and integrity to my work.

What do you love most about your job?

Helping people to grow and develop in the areas that are most important to them. Seeing clients having insights, enjoying their successes through our work together. Feeling good about people getting more from life.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have spent many years studying the reasons why people do things, and the nature and expression of consciousness as people search for meaning in their own human drama. I wanted to offer the benefits of my learning to help uplift people, and to help them use their own strengths to broaden their fulfillment in life.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'm unique, with a broad experience as a teacher and worker in different organisations. I believe in coaching, and have my own coach as a mentor. I encourage clients to take the Gallup Assesment before we begin coaching, though it is not a requirement - and the report is something that can be used in other areas, independently of my coaching. As the client you choose the agenda, and I help you grow in accordance with your own values. I will also help you get clarity on those values, and help you stay accountable if you need it. I will provide a safe space for you to freely discuss whatever you want to think through, without judgement. I have integrity, and value every client's individuality.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Mostly online or via phone, as I frequently travel and coaching happens fundamentally through conversation.
