What do you love most about your job?

what I love most about my role as a counsellor is meeting new people and helping them to explore and unravel their issues in a way that makes sense to them, helping them to find resolution and a way forward in their life with purpose and direction. It is very rewarding.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I am a retired nurse now, my decision to train as a counsellor came from my experience of nursing stroke patients who needed to talk about their experience of having their stroke and what that meant for them and their family. It emphasised the vital importance of talking and sharing your concerns with someone who actively listens. It highlights the connection between positive mental health and physical well being.

Why should our clients choose you?

I have 18 years of working in healthcare setting as a nurse, and trained in person centred counselling and psychotherapy to level 5 . I volunteer for a number of charitable organsiations.
I believe the client is the expert of themselves, no one knows them better, my role is to actively listen to them, sometimes challenge in a gentle way to help the client to unravel their feelings and thoughts and to seek their solutions and answers.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I work via online zoom platform, I work in a private, connfidential, quiet space, I ensure there is no interuptions during the therapy session. I have up to date online security and it is password protected.
a working agreement and data privacy information is emailed to client prior to the therapy sessions, If the client has read and is happy with the contents I request they sign to say they agree and consent to the contents of the docs. there is always the opportuunity to ask any questions if they are unsure of anything. the data privacy document informs client of details of securing and storing sessions notes and how long these notes are stored for. I am registered with the ICO. (information commissioners office)
The working agreement informs client and counsellor how we will work together in therapy, its details the confidentiality policy, boundaries, payment details and endings.
