I first practiced yoga with Alice at Republic, office campus in East London, and I found something very different from the other classes I had been to. My gym’s classes were a generic going through postures without being really present or connected to it, more about doing rather then being, more physical than spiritual. 1 hour fast flow felt bit rushed and stressful to follow for a beginner like me to be honest. Whereas Alice’s classes are bit longer, you are invited to move slower, and you are mainly focus on connecting to the breath and to the body. You feel your own body and your own physical sensations throughout the whole practice, in and out of postures. You are guided to keep the awareness and the attention to the breath and expressing the pose more fully and naturally with it. You’re more aware of what you doing and why you’re doing it. What you’re moving and where you’re moving it. You’re more connected to your own practice. Her work it’s definitely different, more in depth and more detailed. She allows time to explore the same posture in different ways, supported by different props. She gave me good individual adjustments. I have a better understanding of the poses now. And my body and breath awareness have improved. My practice is now more aware and mindful, I know when to use props and adjust myself for better alignment. I now leave the class calmer, more relaxed and more embodied. It puts me in the zone, the practice almost transcends the mat and the body and it goes beyond.

Was recommended to Serene Spirit by a friend. Was a little dubious to the benefits, however to ensure best chance of recovery was a little desperate too.
I have to say the services by Serene Spirit was fantastic. From the initial assessment, to the amazing 1-1 lessons and the ongoing online support, everything has been very professional. Most of all it was done in a manner I felt was beneficial to me and me only. I felt at ease from the first lesson, and even the physio believed my recovery was a lot quicker due to ongoing yoga.
