The Avon Vale Races is one of Wiltshire’s premier Point-to-Point Steeplechase meetings, held annually at Larkhill Racecourse, near Amesbury. Wiltshire is horseracing country; did you know that over 2,000 horses are trained for racing within 30 minutes drive of Larkhill? The busy Jumping yards of Alan King, namesake Neil, Emma Lavelle, Neil Mulholland, and Seamus Mullins, just to name a few, sit within our country and its surrounds.

We couldn’t of asked for a better venue/party to celebrate my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, staff and management was fantastic and superb, brilliant and delicious food, the buffet catered for everybody, honestly couldn’t of asked for a better night, I’d definitely recommend anybody and would completely use you again for any venue or party.

Great long, challenging golf course. 7300+ yards of championship tees. Lots of cross bunkers, water, challenging greens. Yet, a beautiful natural scenery. Whilst during my visit the greens needed a bit more care, they clearly were top quality greens. Note: the course is a bit hilly at times, so definitely worth getting a trundler and/or buggy. I paid £35 for a Sat 3pm round, definitely good value for money.

Eight of us booked for the New Years Eve Celebration and Gala buffet. We were offered Bucks fizz or orange juice on arrival which was a pleasant way to start the evening. Food was excellent with plenty of choice; hot or cold. Puddings were very moreish and there was a generous cheese board table. Tea & coffee were served to finsh off the meal. Staff were friendly and attentive with nothing too much trouble. Suprisingly unable to get a Baileys at the bar. The Dj was good and catered to varying taste in music. Another glass of Fizz was delivered to each of us to toast in the New Year. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would happily attend again.

Very nice hotel with close proximity to the town centre with an easy 10 minute walk to the shops. Room was decently sized with the beds being very comfortable. The whole building tended to be incredibly hot and meant we had to leave the windows open overnight. Bathroom was modern and had a bath and shower which worked very well. The main thing that let the hotel down was the breakfast (which was included in the price which is nice) it was a decent breakfast but was a bit cold and the staff could've maybe not stared at us the entire meal. Overall a decent hotel with nice rooms and views but breakfast was average.
