The Mansion House is very impressive from virtually every angle. You feel special going there and the height of the rooms is something to behold. There are a lot of rooms and a couple of options for dining. The decor is perfect for a country home.
The room had was stunning with a big three piece suite and big bathroom looking down towards the lake. The room was grand and the bed extremely comfortable. It could be a little more modern (the ironing board was a fold out Corby job in the cupboard) but it suited the Mansion House perfectly. There are many other places to stay on site not in the Mansion house so be sure what you pick as some are a 10 minute walk from the main house (although the hotel has its own fleet of black cabs to ferry you around).
The gardens have a classically laid out section the is grand although lacking in plants as well as a reputed 1000 acres of estate grounds beyond.
The only disappointment was the breakfast which although nice the staff weren't as helpful as expected. However the evening service was good.
All in all a wonderful place for a memorable stay.
