Durham
New Close Farm is set in a beautiful location only a few miles from Durham City. With stunning views across Durham and towards the sunset it's simply the perfect location for a tipi or marquee wedding . With an on-site organic farm shop and flower grower we are the ideal choice for any outdoor tipi wedding. We are happy to be as involved as you wish with regard to your preparations.

Perfect spot for a unique wedding - the only limit is your imagination! We held our wedding reception in tipis on the farm on Friday 26th April 2019. Lovely location with fab views across the Durham countryside, plus Bev and Jamie (with additional family) are some of the nicest people you will work with. They can be as involved (or not involved) as you like, and nothing is a problem. Highly recommended!

Spent a night at Hotel Indigo on Saturday and can't wait to go back. We have stayed in the Newcastle venue several times (and loved it) however this hotel is in a different league!
We were geeted by the lovely Omar on reception who is very knowledgeable about the building, its history and renovations. The reception area is beautifully decorated and the attention to detail with bringing in the buildings previous use. He explained the layout of the hotel (room, bar and restaurant - the important stuff) and was very accommodating.
Arrived at our room on 2nd floor (412) and left speechless. It was beautiful. Walked through the door to a small hallway and then another door leading to a landing. 3 stairs down and into our room. Huge bed with detailed headboard/backing panels. Large tv with 2 comfy chairs. Then another 3 stairs leading up to possibly the largest bathroom I've seen. Double shower, long vanity unit and stand alone bath. Lots of lovely prints and deco about the university. We honestly couldn't have had a better room - we will certainly be making a request for that room in the future.
Drinks in the bar before heading out and looked after by the fabulous Colleen and Jane. 2 lovely ladies who always had a smile. Breakfast the next morning was in the MPW restaurant which has a beautiful detailed dome roof. Hubby had the Durham breakfast and I had Eggs Benedict - both very tasty. Again staff very helpful and never stopped. Tables cleared and reset very promptly which is fab, nothing worse than sitting near dirty tables for longer than necessary.
I can't wait to go back very soon. The staff are very friendly and always go the extra mile. Certainly recommend a visit here. Plus, some great bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
