My business offers Wedding Photography & Videography. Set up in 2014, I have shot a large number of weddings both in kent, and further afield, and employ a very natural and unposed style of both photography and videography.
This has to be one of the hardest questions to answer. For me, the joy with wedding comes when capturing very intimate moments and emotions between two people, that would otherwise go unnoticed. There is something quite indescribable about the whole process, and it comes from a real passion for what I do.
So my journey into photography wasn’t quite so straightforward. I have no formal qualifications in Photography, and never had an interest in it until around 2012, when a beaten up hand-me-down DSLR was given to me by a family member. This changed everything. I developed a real passion for landscapes, specifically astrophotography, and started making small movies. I then started film school, which I ultimately graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree. During this time, I started shooting nightlife events, and then second shooting weddings to improve my portraiture. This led to me going 'pro' in 2014, and what an adventure it has been! Hopefully, the adventure has only began ...
For me, it is important that the photographer and the couple suit each other, both personally, and also in the style of photography. I shoot largely in the background, preferring a more unobtrusive, documentary approach to photography. This allows the bride and groom to enjoy their day - without a camera being thrown in their face! My images have been described as quite 'boho' and 'earthy'.
