‘19 Certificate of Excellence

I am a Derbyshire photographer, offering wedding, event, portrait and product services. I have always loved Photography and studied Film Production at University, but I really fell in love with wedding photography at a beautiful barn wedding in Suffolk, my partner had been asked to shoot the wedding as he was friends with the groom from his work as a motorsport photographer. He asked if I would help him out, as weddings weren’t really his thing, and turns out they were mine! The atmosphere and happiness on a wedding day is such a lovely thing to be part of and to be asked to capture every bit of it is a pleasure. I just wanted more of it! So I set up my business and got to work shooting friends weddings and meeting as many people as I could. At the time I was a Learning Support Worker at a Speech and Langauge SEN school, I organised photoshoots as a hobby and would shoot weddings on the weekends. I wanted more time to work on photography though, so decided to become a School Photographer, you know the one; slightly turned to the side, cheesy grin photos. I took those and loved it, working with kids and photography was so much fun, but I still wasn’t able to put all my energy into my business. So, at the end of 2020, yes, in the middle of a pandemic, I decided to go completely free-lance and focus on everything photography full time. I haven’t looked back since and I’m so excited for what the future holds. I would love to talk to you about your photography needs and look forward to working with you.

What do you love most about your job?

I love that I am able to be a part of the happiest day in two peoples' lives...for my job!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always been a creative person and have tried to find time for projects along side working as a Special Education Needs Learning Support Worker, a job in which has strengthened my communication skills with people, and gave me the capacity to tailor to others needs. I have recently changed the way I work, to spend the majority of my time on photography.
In truth, I started my own business to have more freedom and be creative.

Why should our clients choose you?

I care a lot about getting it right for my clients, and I appreciate the trust a couple puts in me to document their wedding day.

I just love it when I'm there for a funny or moving moment that may have otherwise been missed, and when it's captured, it feels like magic and there's always the hope that the bride and groom will love it as much as I do.

It is important to me that the couples I work with feel comfortable and assured that they nor their guests will be told to pose or be manoeuvred into awkward positions, so they can relax into the day.

If you want some shots of your bridesmaids, best men, family or your work mates that's what will happen and I will look for the smiles, not arrange them.

It is your day and your say.

I'll be in the background, catching your memories so you can be reminded of the atmosphere and beauty of your special day.
