I attend a course on how to use the sewing machine (because I had forgotten). I found the course very helpful and useful. On a recent trip to visit friends in Portugal I was able to help my friend’s housekeeper solve a problem - her sewing machine was at the mender’s and she had been lent a sewing machine but she couldn’t work out how to get a zigzag stitch on it. She thought it might be broken and was embarrassed to tell anyone. I was able to sort out the problem!
