We came to the steam rally today, it was really nice to have eaten food which was fresh and tasty, I tried the burger which was really good and the chicken I can only describe as light and fluffy, the chips were hand made from real potatoes on site, not out of a bag, I will be keeping an eye on if your at local shows to eat your lovely food again, thank you for such a surprise, it is a refreshing change to have food that doesn't leave you feeling greasy

We used Cornwall Chef for our Wedding in October. Steve was amazing start to finish. We cannot thank him enough for how accommodating he was to make our day work exactly as we envisaged it. Not to mention barbecuing in the middle of a storm "sheltered" only by a gazebo! Despite the weather Steve delivered delicious food to all our guests, most of whom found us to comment on how incredible it was. Would highly recommend for any event.

Just misses off being top notch. Just returned from a week here in a gold standard lodge.
Good points: staff lovely, spa very good, massage excellent, evening food fantastic, location perfect.
Bad points- bar staff were always rushed off feet, lunch food very slow & some in our party had finished before others meals arrived, lodge was nice but when arrived washing machine door was missing ( which they did resolve quickly) kettle lid was broken & unsafe, phone did not work, plates missing, shower temperature broken in main bathroom shower. It’s a shame as these small details matter when you are paying for luxury and we usually pay less to go abroad, but as a whole good outweighed bad, so we will definitely return- perhaps not in peak season.
Only other thing that let the place down, which the hotel could not really foresee was the antisocial behaviour of other guests in a nearby lodge, who were frequently drunk & rowdy, dogs barking as left alone, youths throwing things at lodge balconies, throwing beer cans late at night, jumping and shouting in the pool, even climbing on window ledges & even a very loud family feud late at night, which we actually was rather amusing. We did raise concerns to management, but not sure if this was addressed- so be aware not all the guests here are thoughtful of others & I’m not sure the hotel really minds this. We were also told if you had dogs you were not permitted a lodge with a hot tub, but this was not the case with two of the lodges we saw- which was a shame as when booking this was a major feature for us- shame :(
