Incredible cake Consultation - the presentation, detail and effort that Kate went into for our consultation/taster was amazing. We had Prosecco, nibbles and lots of cake and long story short.... we walked in wanting something like 3 tier cake and left having ordered a 5 tier beast (and big grins) because the variety of flavours and types made it impossible to choose any less. Kate looked through our wedding invitations, theme and noted some other personal details and then sketched our cake and she nailed it. 6/7 months later, Kate and cake travelled 120 miles to our venue including welsh back roads, arrived early and then assembled our perfect cake. We were due to cut it before our evening guests arrived but I refused because I wanted every last guest to see it . Once I got over the fact I’d vandalised Kate’s incredible and hard work....we all loved it. Everyone was walking round with plates full of cake. It was worth every last penny and every last crumb was enjoyed. Thank you so, so much . We will be back!!

I offer cakes focused on taste, unique design, and catering for any allergy or intolerance. In my opinion, if it doesn't taste nice, don't bother having it. I think that a lot of the time style comes at the expense of taste - how many times have you been to a party or wedding and people barely have any cake, or if they do, the hard layer of fondant icing over the top gets scraped to the side of the plate and into the bin?

We decided to ask Liz to make our cake after a tasting which took place at our house (so convenient!) where we were able to sample 5 different flavours. It was SO hard to choose 3 for each of our tiers, and once that was done Liz talked us through her designs to help us think about the decoration. A few weeks before the wedding Liz sent us a photograph of the lustre effect on the cake that we had chosen to check we were happy with the colours - this is an indication of the level of care and pride Liz clearly takes in her work. The cake itself was absolutely divine! All our guests loved it and we've had several comments on how good it was, particularly the sticky toffee layer - we wish we'd made that the biggest tier in hindsight. I'd recommend The Sugared Thistle to anyone looking for a cake, no matter what the occasion. Thank you!
