Limehouse

Working from research to visual resolution we offer a complete, literate, stylish design service. Specialising in type-intensive projects and in the presentation of the arts, we are concerned with the making of meaning; the connection of form and content, the articulation of design and copy. Quiet restraint characterises the process of making well-considered decisions - including any decision to make a deal of noise.

What makes a great website?

Clean and clear appearance. Navigation matched to audience and purpose. Consistently presented content - always on brand, always current.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

What are your goals for the project?
Who are you trying to reach?
How long do you expect your audience to stay with the site?
Do you have a social media presence?
Show me three examples of print or web design that you like?
What assets exist already (images, film, copy etc)?
Do you already have an established brand?
Does your brand go beyond a Logo; what else does it include?

What do you love most about your job?

Taking a client on a journey to a better outcome than they had imagined

What inspired you to start your own business?

I had held senior roles in higher education in the USA and UK, giving me experience of project management, budgeting and working with a range of audiences (students, their parents) in what is effectively a medium-sized corporation. Corporate and Government restrictions don't mesh well with creative practice and often, despite good intentions, fail to support enterprise as they should.

I had been closely involved with Art and Design from an academic and administrative point of view and wanted to use my management expertise to pursue my own practice.
