We provide a bespoke triathlon and nutrition training for clients of all levels of experience and ability. Everyone is an individual each plan reflects that. Over the years I have been coaching I have had athletes achieve over 100 Ironman and 70.3 finishes (one or two who joined me with no previous experience at all!), I have had numerous athletes achieve qualification to compete as age group athletes for GB, several of which have podium’d at various distances from sprint to long distance. Working remotely, but close to clients has proved a successful formula. Weekly video calls enable me to discuss with each athlete what the previous week was like and how we can work training into a busy work and family life to achieve the best results. Working on line has a lot of advantages, not least of which is no travel time for clients to see me, Video analysis is an important part of any coach’s tool kit and that is no different working remotely as I use the same software to analyse videos as I would in person. I am actually based in Lanzarote, and should clients wish to come and train out here for a week or so, they are very welcome to take the opportunity for a little more one to one work and use the amazing facilities the island has to offer. Personally, I have been a triathlete myself for over 30 years and have represented GB as an age group athlete at long distance as well as completing several Ironman races.
Working with individuals. Every athlete is different and has a different experience. I especially love working with people new to the sport. Watching people develop is my biggest reward!
I have been a coach for a few years with a handful of clients, and had a lot of success with my first few clients that I decided I could start a business and be full time. I trained as a Retul bike fitter to support the triathlon coaching. I later trained as a nutrition coach for the same reason.
I have years of experience with athletes from beginners to those who have been on the podium at world championships. I treat each client as an individual, shaping what I offer to what the athlete needs. I see my clients every week, which allows me to respond quickly to events and situations occurring in their lives.
My services are all on line unless athletes come out to Lanzarote to train, in which case, I spend what time I ca. with them in person. Every year I have a group of athletes come out at the same time, so we have a more formal training camp.
I encourage athletes to monitor their health markers and so spot the early signs of any virus or bacteria. We discuss the most effective ways to avoid getting sick when their training is in a public place (gyms and swimming pools mostly in this case). Guidance on not training if feeling unwell as this just exacerbates any illness, not just COVID.

ITR is really great coaching with tailored program but also loads of offline resources and tutorials across all tri disciplines and in broad topics like race management, mindset and nutrition. Personally, as first time triathlete, the program has worked and results were great.

George is a top bloke and an excellent coach. He is very passionate about running and triathlon, has experience of being a dedicated athlete but alongside having a family and job and that really helps me. He knows when to push my training harder and when to ease off. The ITR group are so friendly and as a relative novice they have been extremely supportive and helpful. Regular presentations on practical tips, training strategies and physiology are given live on zoom and then recorded so we can all watch them back or even listen back in the car if you can’t make the meeting itself. Really top value coaching. I only signed up for one race but was so happy with what I got back I’ll be staying put.

Alan helped me complete my first Ironman! He is a very dedicated and detailed oriented coach that will spend considerable time over zoom talking through all of the finer details of your race and training. I was also greatly appreciative of his ability to modify my training to injuries and international travel. I will certainly work with him again if I am daft enough to enter another race!
