At an initial, no obligation, telephone consultation we can discuss how I can best support you and how we will work together. I offer online and face to face appointments in Marlborough, Wiltshire.
Helping people live their best lives is what I love most about my job. I've listed a few things below that motivate me in my work:
Desire to Make a Difference: I’ve always wanted to contribute positively to others' lives and counselling allows me to support individuals in overcoming challenges and finding their own paths.
Empathy and Understanding: I believe in the power of empathy. Training as a counsellor has equipped me with the skills to listen deeply and understand diverse perspectives, helping you to feel seen and heard.
Empowerment: I am passionate about empowering individuals to discover their strengths and resilience. Counselling provides a platform for you to explore your potential and make positive changes, if you choose to.
Promoting Mental Well-Being: Mental health is crucial for overall well-being. I wanted to be part of a field that promotes awareness and provides tools for better mental health.
Lifelong Learning: Counselling is always evolving. My training allows me to engage in continuous learning, which fuels my passion for helping others.
My inspiration for becoming a counsellor began with a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. From a young age, I found myself drawn to listening and offering support to friends and family during their challenging times. This natural inclination towards empathy and understanding laid the foundation for my passion.
As I grew older, I encountered various individuals who were struggling with mental health issues, stress, and emotional turmoil. Witnessing their pain and how counselling had such a positive effective on their lives inspired me to pursue formal education and training in this field. I realised that with the right tools and knowledge, I could help others navigate their own difficulties and find a path to healing and growth.
I have previous experience volunteering as a Samaritans listener and completed my placement at a local counselling agency offering low cost counselling in the community. I also provide volunteer counselling in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility.
After qualifying, I wanted to create a safe and welcoming space where individuals could feel heard, understood, and empowered to overcome their challenges.
My integrative approach blends techniques from various counselling modalities, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, person-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions.
I believe that the most effective path forward is one that draws upon a diverse toolkit, allowing me to tailor the therapeutic process to your unique needs, goals, and preferred ways of learning and growing.
I will provide you with a safe and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I'll help you to make sense of your personal experiences, which may provide you with new perspectives on your past and the way you view your future.
