I found Rachel on bark when looking for a way to cure my alcohol habit. Booked a consultation and went from there.
She was very patient, listing to my outpourings, as difficult as it was to do and she helped me on my path, always listening and always thoughtful and kind in her reply.
I found her easy to trust and a therapist who I cannot recommend enough. I nolonger drink during the week and drink less at weekends than I used to, which was what I was aiming for from the start.
Book a consultation, you will not look back.

I am an unusual RTT Hypnotherapist with a medical background and an interest in SCIO Biofeedback Therapy. My company offers insight into the many solutions that are available once you have looked for the obvious. I love solving puzzles and have more time than other practitioners to listen and advise. I am a Rapid Transformational Hypnotherapist which means I sort our issues usually in one session.

I had a fascinating session with Elaine last week uncovering 3 different reasons in childhood for a problem I am experiencing at the moment. My subconscious even took me back to a past life!
Elaine is lovely, very professional and certainly put me at ease whilst I was having this session. I also have a recording to listen to once a day.
It’s early days yet, but I feel very positive that changes will happen. Thank you Elaine - I highly recommend you 👍

Life can throw up all sorts of surprises. Sometimes it's hard to put a finger on exactly what has caused our distress, or we can wonder 'why me?' when everyone else seems just fine. I believe we all can benefit from time spent in reflection with a compassionate person, and that the insight we gain together can be a great source of healing. Who I work with I work with all sorts of people.

Who am I: First of all, "welcome" and thank you for taking time to read my profile and my way of helping and/or supporting you in a therapeutic journey of self discovery and change, whether that be for yourself or yourself and a partner. I am a fully qualified and experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). My work is to help overcome challenges which are overwhelming and to deal with issues of identity, difference and diversity. My passion is working with clients to help bring some clarity and balance into their lives, giving them permission to explore their life, be in touch with their feelings and to help with their own personal growth and self development. My philosophy of counselling is based on the person as a whole - working on the mind, body and the emotions. My role as a counsellor is to guide and help a client along the journey of change by providing a safe place to promote a deep inner healing to help restore trust and harmony in ones 'self' and other relationships. Bringing more self awareness brings with it contentment and a walk through life with more focus, purpose and positivity. The approach I use is individual for each client, dependent on my client's personality, story and emotional need. My counselling model is an eclectic blend of different elements of models or therapies ie. psychodynamic, humanistic and Intercultural and if required some initial grounding using mindfulness or focussing, alongside breathing techniques. What to expect: Counselling can be daunting and uncomfortable for some clients, so I will ease you slowly into the session by actively listening to your story in a non-judgemental and confidential setting. This first session will give you an insight into the world of counselling as a tool for providing you with a new perspective on and solutions to your issues. We will work together to focus on bringing clarity into your thoughts by reducing confusion which then allows for effective decisions. Decisions then lead to positive changes in behaviour. Work experience: Working with a key West Kent based registered charity, helping and supporting those affected by domestic abuse. Giving face to face support with detailed risk assessment and putting into place safety planning for clients. NHS Counselling work at two GP surgeries helping clients with presenting issues to include trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety and relationship and gender issues (both for individuals and couples). College counsellor supporting and counselling students with emotional and diverse presenting issues. Most of my counselling work is from my private practice at my counselling room based near Sevenoaks, Kent. Other Counselling Training/Certificates: Suicide Awareness and Prevention Sexual Healing after Abuse Progressive Personal Awareness Place2Be Children's Awareness Training Safeguarding Training
The uniqueness of an individual is my passion and to be able to help someone focus and challenge their energy to change their mindset is inspiring.
The word 'inspiring' itself means believing in themselves and believing in others.
To have more flexibility with time for clients and to be in the comfort of my own therapy room, which I have made into a calm and peaceful place in order to encourage and promote grounding and clarity in my client's mind.
I am a qualified female psychotherapist and counsellor with an empathic mind and a skill of listening to my clients story. Depending on the narrative, I can either be directed by my client or can be directive using an integrative approach to bring together different elements of specific models or therapies ie. psychodynamic, humanistic and Intercultural.
I provide counselling services either remotely or face-to-face - whatever suits your needs.
The Government have advised that a number of services are able to stay open such as the NHS and other medical supporting services - it is considered vital that anyone who needs any kind of health or mental care comes forward and seeks help.
I will be closely monitoring and adhering to the national restrictions and guidelines in order to protect my clients, this will include the following:
* hands - asking all clients to use hand sanitiser on arrival which will be provided.
* distancing - wearing a face covering when entering and exiting the counselling room - this can then be removed when seated
* space - the size of the counselling room allows myself and my client to be seated 2 metres apart
* ventilation - the counselling room will be ventilated by keeping the window slightly open
I will be unable to offer my clients water so I suggest that you bring your own bottled water.
