Check out my website for bookings (including a FREE 15 minute consultation) and more detail about what I offer: https://www.benfostertherapy.com/booking PLEASE NOTE I ONLY OFFER ONLINE SESSIONS I mould the therapy to the individual rather than prescribe a set procedure. With my training, primarily in person-centred therapy with hypnotic approaches, I can work with issues that are sensitive in nature, whilst placing you as the expert on your life with inner resources for healing and thriving. My primary approach is in practicing in the Internal Family Systems model and utilising aspects of other modalities like CBT and Transactional Analysis. However, listing a bunch of approaches won't help you make an informed decision. Instead, let's start by checking out the booking system on my website: https://www.benfostertherapy.com/booking where you can book a free discovery call. If you are wanting a face-to-face appointment, email me (email address on website) for enquiries. Please note that I require a full upfront payment before a full session of therapy to ensure commitment and prevent the likelihood of no-shows. *Please note: I will not publish or ask for testimonials as I abide by the UKCP code of ethics. The publishing of reviews may render the identity of the client and thus breach confidentiality.
Societally, being able to be part of an age that is embracing mental wellness as a process to be striving for and moving away from a society that views mental illness as a stigma.
Individually, being able to be with a client when they are expressing their greatest sufferances and witnessing and helping them make their transformative journey of forward movement in life.
I used to be a secondary school teacher and faced several struggles with stress and witnessed how it affected my ability to work and be present in my personal life. I turned towards CBT which was offered on a group seminar basis through the NHS Steps to Wellbeing scheme. Whilst it was helpful, I did notice that the service was lacking slightly (perhaps through no fault of their own because of the stress and pressure the NHS are under!) I therefore looked at other types of therapy which turned into applying for a training course in hypnotherapy and a couple of years later, towards a certificate and starting my own practice.
I'm here to help you feel seen, heard and validated. I appreciate that every human has unique qualities and how everyone experiences anxiety, depression, stress, etc. differently can lead one to feel isolated despite even the presence of a support network where there may be fears of being judged. Rest assured, I offer a safe, warm and non-judgemental space where you can say anything and be accepted.
Despite its misplaced promises, hypnosis is not a miraculous solution on its own, but it can be a valuable tool when integrated with psychotherapeutic approaches. The key to effective hypnotherapy lies in combining it with a deep understanding of psychology, and repetitive and one-dimensional suggestions tend to be insufficient. People are unique, and their minds require personalized approaches in therapy.
As of right now, I only provide services remotely.
Online therapy has helped promote social distancing, however, in the future I do plan on integrating face-to-face working conditions.
