Christine Roberts Counselling and Psychotherapy

Why seek counselling or therapy ? You might be going through changes in your home life, work life, relationships or health. You might be living with uncomfortable feelings like stress, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, anger, or loneliness. Or struggling with processing trauma or abuse (which includes gaslighting) and unable to talk about this in every day life. Talking to a trained therapist at times like this can help put your life back on track. I can help you understand what’s going on for you right now by providing a confidential place to talk, without any judgement. We work together at your pace, to understand what you need from counselling and find a way to move forward with life. Life post pandemic, has seen many people turn to therapy for the first time, as it's easily accessible online and people want to change their lives, no longer choosing to live with uncomfortable feelings, patterns of behaviour, jobs or relationships. By combining therapeutic counselling (talking about how we feel) with CBT tools (tools that help change behaviours & negative thoughts), life should begin to feel more balanced and in time, your desired positive changes possible. Sometimes it can be helpful to have a free/ no obligation 30 minute chat about your situation before choosing a counsellor, so feel free to send me a message to organise a time. I am insured to work with adults over 18 years old only. I have a special interest in working with anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, OCD & negative thoughts, emotional abuse and improving life direction. I am insured to work with adults over 18 years old only. Online sessions cost £50 for 50 minutes. I offer a discount subject to availability for those on lower incomes and NHS workers. Please ask for details.

Hear from
a professional

What do you love most about your job?

After an unexpected event in my twenties, I discovered the benefits of talking to a professional, and went on to qualify as a counsellor. I know how important it is to feel understood , without judgement when we are feeling vulnerable. Being able to provide a professional, safe space to talk and help people understand their problems, so that they can find a way to move forward comfortably at their own pace and in their own unique way is very important to me.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Before the pandemic, I had been working face to face in a counselling room with all of my clients. The pandemic changed this. Moving to online and telephone counselling was the only way to keep connected with my clients. I have since had experience working with an agency that sent me clients from all over the UK, and realized that post pandemic clients are keen to continue to connect online for ease of access, convenience and comfort.
