Hello! Our GMS Tutors have 20 combined years of teaching experience and have learned a thing or two about what works along the way. We’ve taught privately, through an agency, online, in person and in schools. We’ve taken students through structured grades or taught them all they need to know about chords and jazz patterns to be great buskers. You name it, we’ve probably done it - but our biggest take away is that things work better with the student as a priority!

Hello, my name's Janna. I spent over 20 years songwriting, performing, teaching, choir-leading, running workshops and bringing music and singing/voicework to individuals and groups of all ages. Over this time I've felt both for myself and observed in many many people how amazingly powerful the voice and expression is when it gets unlocked. I have also written music for many settings - including 3 of my own albums, and numerous songs for choirs, weddings, events etc.

Every learner is different and brings a variety of life experiences that add to the quality of learning music. I love how each person relates music to their understanding of themselves which taps into a further journey into self-discovery through music. This process is so exciting as in the end, the learner is satisfied with themselves once they are able to crack a challenge and simplify it, feels purposeful and discover what their goal is in learning music.
Having trained in south Indian classical music in vocal and been a recording and performing artist in London and India for over 18 years, I took a career break to train further in music with my Guru in India. After my first year there, I was booked to perform for a charitable cause with the world renowned ISKCON and Akshaya Patra who very generously provided a stage to accommodate a full band and 8 backing vocalists. My repertoire of Indian, western and Indo-Western fusion compositions required the backing vocalists to be trained to harmonize in styles that were new to them. This process was the most enjoyable as training voices showed me what I could do to produce what felt like magic. This gig inspired me to start teaching and landed me opportunities to train voices in India and abroad for personal growth, pregnant women, individuals undergoing depression and anxiety and other emotional conditions that music seemed to be a great avenue and therapy for.
For those who are interested in learning to sing and use their voice to find inner joy and happiness, I can help them through coaching. My own learning process was highly disciplined and when I reached the vulnerable age of the teens, I let myself go into a world of genres totally new to me. Learning how to sing in different ways and finding meaning through singing and learning to sing with meaning is what taught me how to make music personal to each of my learners. Everyone's reason is personal and unique to them as to why they must pick the right vocal trainer for them. I offer a great level of patience, passion and resources for my learners to learn the most essential pathways in music.
