Hi, my name is Joyce A.Davis. A Fashion Researcher at an extremely prestigious design university in London, exploring footwear and new ways in which over-consumption and waste can be reimagined. With over 13 years in couture pattern cutting and dress making, I have worked at a Savile Row tailoring shop as an apprentice trouser maker; worked for Sony Reconds, ITV, and the BBC as a costume designer for numerous celebrities. I have extensive knowledge in the world of fabrics as I studied woven textiles at degree level. Now based in a beautiful High Street Kensington Studios 15min walk from High Street Kensington station in a 751 sq foot creative studio space. We offer one-to-one sewing and pattern classes for £60 per hour as well group sewing programmes. Summer 2024 sewing projects coming soon...

What do you love most about your job?

We love to see students realise their abilities before our eyes. Not all sewing instructors are built the same, we pride ourselves in being patient and kind in all areas of our teaching. People come to us to be educated in the world of craft and fashion and that is our focus.

What inspired you to start your own business?

We saw that traditional sewing skills were dying out and the world had gone fast fashion mad; clothes cheaply made and thrown away to land fill to sewing education being scraped at secondary school level. We saw that there was a need to revive old traditional sewing skills, and bring the quality of clothing back into the everyday wardrobe.

Why should our clients choose you?

We work with all student with varying ability to support them in learning to master sewing and explore their create interest.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

This option is available to our advanced students who have reached a level of comfort to best benefit from this sort of assistance. However we encourage in-person lessons in order to best support and provide a collaborative learning environment.

We wipe down all surfaces before and after each class. We provide alcohol gel to each workstation and maintain a clean and safe learing environment.
