At my first meeting, Carter performed a detailed body and dietary analysis, which - when I got the results - motivated me to change certain aspects of my lifestyle. During this first session we also performed a "light" workout (truth be told, it didn't feel that light to me!) to gauge my current levels of fitness. My husband and I moved to the UK (from Spain) in 2018. I had a very good boxing trainer in Spain for 2 years she got me into good shape. My focus was maintaining my physique because my husband is a pro footballer and we are often invited to public events so you have to look good. When I met David he made me realise how weak my core was, how my glutes were not firing properly and also how tight my hip flexors and shoulders were. He made me realise how this was affecting my movement and overall technique. I had never been told this before!
He spent the first month rebuilding my body and then he taught me some amazing boxing and training techniques. David talks the talk and walks the walk - as the Brits say haha.
After 8 months of working with David I had an amazing core, I could almost do the splits and was able to do hand stands. If we return to the UK David will be my first call but we still do some online sessions from time to time. He is great :)

Escrima is a lot of fun to learn and is great exercise. But as a martial art is extremely effective with or without weapons. As someone who has trained in other martial arts in the past, I was struck by how natural it felt. So as a self defence, it'll definitely make you feel more comfortable in situations you may not have previous to learning it.

I attended Darren’s classes with my husband for a few months, and we both absolutely loved it! Darren is brilliant, he is such a professional at what he does. He thought us some great techniques that were simple and easy to remember. I really liked that he explains real life situations so that you have greater awareness of your surroundings when you are out. The training made me feel more confident as a woman when I am out by myself. It is also a great workout!! All in all, fantastic training which I would highly recommend to anyone!
