Tongwynlais music academy was the best decision ever for my daughter . It's run by 2 amazing and friendly people who my daughter love . My daughter has quite a few disabilities which can make it hard to teach her but her teacher chris is so understanding and amazing with her . He helps her in every way he can and has been a great support to our whole family . Everyone who knows gemma knows how much she loves her teacher and hero chris but this week it has really shown how much he's inspired her . Last week after seizures it affected her cornet playing which has happened a few times but not as bad as week as we think her muscles got damaged in the seizure . Chris told my daughter what to practise to improve this and by doing this she's getting there and improving every day . She could have just give up as she was in pain but she carried on playing and said she's doing it to show chris because she wants to be like him . I can guarantee after trying quite a few teachers if it wasn't for chris she wouldn't be playing now . It's all about the understanding and friendly approach and a lot of his talent which has inspired my daughter to play . She really enjoys and as she says it's her favourite part of her week . Her behaviour can make it very hard to teach her but he's so patient with her and with speech and language problems he explains everything so she understands . The bond they have is amazing . She doesn't bond with many people at all and doesn't really communicate with some people so it's nice to see them talk about music . His approach to teaching her is amazing . With her autism she has therapies but none of these have been as affective as her lessons at tongwynlais music academy . I now realise the real way to get her happy and communicating is by music but that can only be done with the right teacher . She's so happy and it's made such a difference . Thanks so much x

The opportuniy to inspire a new generation of budding musicians every single day!
We believe that music should be accessible for all. Whilst working and several local Primary Schools, Lydia saw a distinct lacking in professional music tuition. Sometimes, children simply had no exposure to the subject at all. She uses music as a tool to motivate, enable, and engaged a host of imrpotant transferrable skills.
All children deserve the opportunity to experience the joy of ensemble performance and creative expression through music.
Music is and must remain a core part of our National Heritage, starting with its embedment within the the Welsh National Curriculum. MusicNotes believe that as conservatoire-trained performers, it is our job to ensure this - through a sustainable commitment to music education.
MusicNotes private tuition branch was devised by Lydia Savory - a recent graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Lydia has been privately teaching since 2012 - transferring a love for music, into inspiration and motivation of like-minded musicians.
From beginner to advanced, infant to adult, her teaching style is tailor-made to suit each individual client. Specialising in 1-1 lessons, this package is suitable for all aspiring musicians of any standard or age.
Private lessons are booked in either 30 - 60 minute slots, or as block half-term booking. They can be delivered at your home, at a music club, or at school - the choice is yours!
For adult learners, lessons are structured in a flexible manner in order to meet the needs and goals of each pupil (adjustable to differing work patterns, child care, holidays etc.) Group / duo lessons can also be arranged by special request.
At MusicNotes, we pride ourselves on commitment and consistency - especially with regards to lesson times and tutors. As such, you will receive personalised & professional teaching that is guaranteed to unlock musical success through creative development.
