I very rarely take the time to write a review however in this case I feel I should make an exception due to the first class service I received from Homestead Inspections. I have a small property portfolio that I manage from abroad. This often causes problems when faced with repairs as I am at the mercy of the competency and honesty of tradesmen I cannot meet on sight. I recently received a large estimate to carry out some remedial repairs due to water ingress around the windows to the front of one of my properties. As the front of the property had recently been "K" rendered I suspected that the contractor had not identified the problem correctly so I instructed Homestead Inspections to complete an independent report. The inspection was conducted within 48hrs and I received the report the same day. The report was extremely detailed in content and pinpointed the exact problem with supporting photographs illustrating the issues. The report also identified additional works that were required that I was unaware of. I was advised by the inspector on the correct remedial repairs required to rectify the problems The remedial work proposed by the contractor would not have solved the problem and would therefore have been a waste of a substantial amount of money on my part. I am extremely impressed and satisfied with the knowledge, and professionalism shown by Homestead Inspections and will definitely be recommending their services in the future. Nik Turner

Booked on Monday, done by Thursday, much lower price than quoted elsewhere. If you don't mind not being called every time someone does something, this is great for you (as it was for me). If you're expecting the same kind of contact-based service as you'd get going straight to the surveyor, then go to them. It's an online service and it does what it says on the tin. Surveyor completed report to a great standard and it was emailed to me on the day (the day after the inspection itself) it was written. I would say that a lot of this depends on which surveyor does the work for you, as the turnaround period is really up to them, but Your Survey took all the fuss out of it, which was what I wanted. :)
Our specialism is undertaking surveys for property purchases and we undertake out all levels of inspections including damp and timber, wall tie, roof inspections etc and structural engineers inspections for both property purchases and home improvements such as removal of walls/chimney breasts and structural repairs such as underpinning for insurance purposes. We also undertake full detailed inspections including RICS Level 2 and Level 3 surveys along with a range of our own in house surveys including a basic property health check and more indepth diagnostic reports which in include costs for repairs such as dampness which can be used for negotiation purposes when buying a property.
