I am a full time secondary science teacher, teaching all science disciplines up to GCSE with a physics specialism at A-level. I am passionate about science and seeing students progressing to become the best they can be. In my tutoring experience, I have especially loved creating and designing bespoke and innovative learning methods for individual pupils to increase both their confidence and ability in science.

I am a retired Grammar school maths teacher providing a successful private maths tutoring service for all age group from secondary school upwards. I studied chemical engineering at Cambridge University, had a successful career in industry. Trained as a maths teacher and taught Maths at Boys and Girls Grammar schools and now have tutored for 5 years. I find the most enjoyable part of tutoring is watching the progress pupils can make as they increase in motivation & self confidence once they are given one to one attention and are able to resolve those difficult questions they struggle with at school.
My background is in writing and I worked as a freelance writer and copywriter for over ten years. In 2017, I set up Storymakers following the publication of my first book, The Mystery of the Disappearing Underpants. Since then, I’ve been offering group, termly creative writing sessions, holiday workshops and individual English and writing tuition to children aged 7+. I also regularly visit schools to deliver workshops to children in KS2. Since 2020, I’ve worked mainly online. This has meant being able to work with children across the whole of the UK, in Europe and worldwide. Although I’m happy to work face-to-face again, the majority of what I do remains online. I help children in all areas of English and writing. This includes (but is not exclusive to) preparing for 11+ and independent school exams. I also hold a GA Level 5 certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
I can share my love of writing with others, inspiring creativity, helping to improve confidence and most of all, show children that writing can be a fun and worthwhile process.
My daughter had been studying for the 11+ most of Year 5 and it had left little time for creativity. I offered to do some creative writing workshops to help the children prepare for the writing element of the exam. One workshop turned into another and before long, I was running them regularly.
People choose to work with me because I offer something different. I am an author, first and foremost, so I bring my passion for writing to what I do.
I have worked online since 2020, providing group sessions for up to six children, as well as individual 1:1s. I believe this works very well and continue to offer the majority of my services this way.
I tend to work mostly online. However, if an individual or group comes to my workshop, they agree to let me know if they or anyone else is unwell and to ensure they have tested, if necessary.
