Hello, my name is Jo Davidson, I provide one to one talking therapy/counselling online, as well as study skills, mentoring, enhancing computer skills for any ages. I own a company called Dragonfly Educational Support which is a small independent company providing Specialist Mentor for Autism and Mental Health Difficulties, Assistive Technology (AT) training and Study Skills support for SPLD and Autism. At Dragonfly we know and understand what it is like to struggle through the life and our company is disabled led. We are passionate about the work we do and how we can support clients who are struggling in life. I like to create a safe space where clients feel comfortable talking about their challenges in life. I create an environment where the client can talk about their difficulties and work together to create steps which can help a client to move forward, as well as helping clients to understand themselves. I also use a range of skills from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I have worked with clients suffering from a range of diagnosis’s, such as anxiety, depression, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, eating disorders and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD also referred to as Borderline Personality Disorder). I like to provide clients with a sense of relief by talking through their difficulties with myself, someone who is not a family member or friend and is completely independent from the client’s situation. This allows the client to talk about difficulties they are having but struggling to talk to those around them. Whilst I cannot fix the clients situation, she can be a listening ear for the client and help the client to identify any repeating destructive patterns, any bereavement or abuse the client may have experienced. Our rate is £40 per 50 minutes of support and is available for during the days and early evenings, additionally there are slots available for sessions each week.
I love supporting students of all ages, through school, college and university. I also enjoy helping students with disabilities and helping them to achieve their dreams and ambitions.
I was on my Primary Education degree and I learned a lot about children with specific learning difficulties and other disabilities including Autism and Aspergers. I decided I wanted to head in the direction of supporting students who may be struggling with their academic work. I have been working within the Disabled Students Allowance.
I have a wealth of experience and have been working in the teaching/tutor section since 2011. I feel I have a range of skills and qualifications which help me to support students. I am a good listener, I support students in the most stressful places in their academic journey. It is such a honour to help and support students and be with them on their learning journey.
I can provide services online through zoom, teams or Skype.
Working online means I am keeping myself and my customers safe from Covid-19.
