Hello! I'm Lydia. After spending a year as a full-time teacher in the education system, I have made the decision to seek a better work-life balance with tutoring. I believe this balance actually makes me a better, more stable and well-rounded educator. Indeed, as a creative person, I think it is essential for young people and adults to be able to express themselves and pursue their personal interests in order to maintain good mental health.

I cannot recommend Lauren highly enough. She is an exceptional tutor and we couldn’t of asked for more. I asked Lauren to help my daughter with her maths (aged 9) and she was absolutely incredible. Her kind calm nature and teaching manner was everything my daughter needed. Since we started working with Lauren my daughter’s confidence has significantly grown which her teachers have commented on and also, her end of year results dramatically improved too.

Hello, my name is Sneha, and I’m currently a final year medical student in the UK who is passionate about teaching. I’ve previously taught students ageing from primary school to A-levels in Science ( biology, chemistry) and psychology. I can also help with writing personal statements and interview prep for Medicine as I’ve been successful with my own as well as being on the panel for other prospective students whilst being at medical school.
I am not a teacher but am educated to master level. I have a different approach in that because I am not teacher trained I explain concepts to children in ways for them to understand and break down easily. This is something that my current clients have praised me for. I am DBS checked and safeguarding trained. I can provide these documents if required. Please read my services section for my full bio.

My daughter really enjoys her tutoring sessions with Nigel. She is having tutoring for her 11 + exam. We have noticed her vocabulary and numerical reasoning has really improved through her tutoring sessions. In her last mock exams she was excited to tell me all the things that were in it that she had learnt with Nigel.

2 of my children have benefitted from Simon's tutoring over the last couple of years and would highly recommend. With one he has worked on the 11+ preparation and with the other has worked to generally boost her confidence as she struggles with maths. Simon makes it fun and my children have always looked forward to their sessions.

Empowering people to be their very best version of self.
The word “Betwixt” means “in the middle”. I wanted to offer a middle path alternative to the extremes of rigid curriculum teaching, results-driven personal development and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy style counselling. Instead, I wanted to offer the same positive results with more emphasis on personal growth and support to achieve success in the way that best suits the needs of the individual. One size does not fit all!
I have over 25 years experience in teaching and nearly 15 years experience of coaching and mentoring. As a therapist, I understand the unique experiences of those with ASC and ADHD, and those who struggle with identity - whether through the lens of neurodivergence, being LGBTQ+ or childhood trauma. As a coach, I work in a way that is shame and trauma informed - whilst still ensuring you get to develop into the best version of self. I specialise in stress, anxiety, trauma, identity, shame, relationships and loss.
I have taught from Early Years right up to Foundation Degree level and have a solid track record of achieving excellent academic results whilst also boosting learner morale and confidence in their own abilities. I take a holistic view of education - meaning that academic success does not have to come with the loss of something else. We learn through our favourite topics - curriculum goals can be achieved through innovative and exciting ways - it doesn't have to be dull or painful! I also have over 15 years experience of working specifically with EOTAS and SEND children and can provide educational assessment reports to be used in EHCP planning.
I offer Nationwide online therapy, coaching/mentoring and specialist tuition via Zoom (or Skype/Teams if preferred) as well as in-person therapy, coaching/mentoring and tuition in and around Exeter, Devon and have a designated city centre therapy room. Some children with SEND or mental health complexities cannot manage face-to-face meetings and so online mentoring, coaching and tuition can offer a “safe space” for those children for whom leaving the house is problematic.
When working online, I am ensuring the safety of my clients at all times, without exception. Any hard-copy resources, like textbooks, are sent directly from source (i.e. publisher or bookstore) to the client's home address, ensuring limited contact of materials. Face to Face work is conducted in spaces that can be disinfected and ventilated to reduce transmission, including the great outdoors and which follow extensive covid-19 prevention strategies.
