Are you concerned about your child's progress in Maths and English? We help students improve their grades through our fun, interactive homestudy program combined with online tuition sessions. Exercises and lessons are available in Maths, English and Science, and we provide exercises in most other subjects up to GCSE level. Exercises are marked immediately and reports are provided to parents weekly so progress can be viewed. Our tutors are fully qualified and have access to the students' reports so help can be given in the required areas. We have 12 years experience helping children reach their potential in education. What do you love most about your job?

Knowing that children are enjoying the tuition and home study program and benefiting from it. It also takes the pressure off the parents.

What inspired you to start your own business?

My career over the years has been in accounts but I had always wanted to be involved in education after raising my own two children in the school system. Running a tuition service was the answer. I love to think that I can help children with their education, particularly at the moment during the pandemic when I know many parents are struggling with home schooling. I have seen the disappointment in young people when they haven't been able to take exams, and although we can't change that I believe we can give them the support they need to reach their potential.

Why should our clients choose you?

They should choose me because I care, and I can offer a personal and effective service.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Currently we are only operating remotely/online. In the future I hope to be able to run physical tuition centres.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I only opened the Darlington branch of My Own Tutor in September 2020, so I haven't had to make any changes from physical tuition centres to online. It has all been online from the start.
