I'm a fully qualified music teacher with over 15 years experience of teaching students from junior school through to A-Level and am now enjoying teaching students of any age! My first instrument is piano and I am now offering online piano and keyboard lessons for beginners through to Grade 8. I will resume to face to face teaching if preferred by the student when we are allowed!
Each of us learn in a different way and I teach in a style that is accessible and fun. I will in the first instance consult with you in a free first 30 minute session to find out exactly what your hopes and dreams are with regard to music. Some students want to learn certain styles, others want to learn to read sheet music or even compose their own songs. I also teach some students who are primarily singers but want to learn to do basic accompaniment to their songs.

Determined to learn to play the piano I bought one in 2013. I needed a local teacher, and found Konnie’s Piano Tuition on the web. I have been with her ever since (7 years). She has all the attributes of a wonderful teacher, kind, polite, painstaking in her explanations, and very patient - essential quality in teaching. She does not push you to learn or hold you back, you are learning at your pace. I think she understands that it is important to feel comfortable whilst learning. She is also very considerate to our needs, and will adjust lesson times when necessary. Her studio is immaculate, clean, bright and comfortable. She also has a beautiful piano, which as students I think we are lucky to learn on. In short it is a joy to learn to play the piano with Konnie. Since we have had to deal with the Coronavirus Konnie has implemented on line lessons using Skype, which I have found very successful.

Marcus,My grandfather and Great Grandfather had the piano shop in Faversham from about 1890 to 1940. The Hobday family were rather musically inclined being double bass, cello and piano players of some renown,Alfred, Claude and Ethel and Anna, respectively. If you Google the name you'll see what a fine background of good music there is in Faversham.Sorry it's a while since I was there, but I thought you might like to know, and I couldn't find another way to contact you.Kind regards,David C Hobday

There are many things I love about my job -
Firstly, I have great students!
Some are naturally good at music and that is in itself a joy; others find it more difficult and it is so great when they make progress.
Learning an instrument can be a tricky business but I aim for each stage to be gently taught, so each student understands and enjoys learning.
I like to teach my students to be able to play piano and sing from traditional notation, by ear and from chord charts.
I enjoy when a student makes a great recording.
My students are always asked what music they want to learn, so their lessons are a combination of mine and their suggestions. It can be a piece of classical music, a jazz standard or a pop song and sometimes I learn of a new piece of music through them!
If a piece of music a student has requested is not available in sheet music form, it is my pleasure to arrange the music for them.
I love teaching the special needs students I have on my books.
My teaching studio is a great space with two touch sensitive keyboards, an acoustic piano, PA, microphones, wifi, a wide range of teaching resources.....all that is needed for today's music teacher.
It is natural for instrumental music teachers to start their own business and I started when my children were small and I could work from home and during term times. Now my family are grown up and left home so I also offer lessons during the school holidays.
As this is my own business, I can ensure that a high standard service can be maintained, from my equipment, the surroundings and communication between me and my students.
The priority for me as a music teacher is that my students truly enjoy their music lessons and the advancements they make on their musical journey.
If my students want to take music exams, they achieve high marks.
We work hard in my music lessons but it is always fun and respectful.
My clients are offered a free half hour trial lesson so they can make a truly informed decision about choosing me as their piano or singing teacher.
