I am a fully qualified music teacher with 15+ years experience of teaching both private music lessons and classroom teaching. I have worked in London, East and West Sussex teaching music and in later years became a SEN specialist working with students who have various different educational needs and I have a particular interest in working with students on the autistic spectrum.
I currently have 15 years in teaching music both inside the classroom and at home 1:1. I teach piano, violin and viola to Grade 6/7 standard using ABRSM and Trinity examination boards. I studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire where I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Music with honours. I then went on to study for my teacher training and qualified with a PGCE in Music education in 2011 from Reading University.

I offer lessons in Piano, Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute. I teach from home and can teach to ABRSM syllabus if required. I specialise in jazz but teach classical too. I can also teach theory. I have 12 years of experience teaching and have been performing music professionally since the age of 14 and completed a four year degree in jazz at Birmingham Conservatoire. I have performed in prestigious venues such as London's Jazz Cafe, The 100 Club, The Great Room in Grosvenor Park Hotel, The Lanesborough, Corinithia, Haymarket and Wellesley Hotels.

FIVE STAR! Cong-Fusion are a fantastically talented group of musicians, who play a groovy funk/fusion style, which gets your toes tapping! As jazz musicians, their soloing and improvisation skills are awe-inspiring. I've also had the pleasure of working with pianist, Ryan, on other projects and he oozes musicality.
We began as a small agency with just two teachers based in Muswell Hill, North London. 11 years later Forte Piano Teachers has become a wonderful collective of teachers with a wide range of teaching styles and specialisms. Tuition in music: specifically, keyboard instruments (piano, keyboard); brass instruments (trombone, trumpet and all valved brass); music theory and composition. I approach playing music from a broad holistic viewpoint, referencing a wide range of approaches to developing mental and physical skills, and the whole range of traditions in music performance and pedagogy. Becoming a musician poses many questions and is as challenging in many ways as becoming a mountaineer or an acrobat.

I have been taking piano lessons from Lucy for about two months. I passed Grade 8 many years ago and want to return to that standard. I have found Lucy immeasurably helpful in trying to do so. She is supportive, encouraging and thoughtful. She focuses in improving my technique in order to develop a richer emotional involvement in the music. I thoroughly recommend her to anyone, whatever their level.

I hadn't been in a studio for ages, so I was quite nervous but Mike turned out to be an easy-going professional who created a relaxed atmosphere for recording. It's nice to work with someone who knows what he's doing. We were done fairly swiftly and he offered as much advice as I needed. Will definitely work with him again.
We are an award winning family run performing arts school that’s teaches all types of singing, dancing & acting and piano & music theory from 2yrs to adult.
I am a professional Opera Singer and have 25 years teaching experience. I teach all levels and enjoy working with complete beginners as much as advanced professionals. Whilst at the Royal College of Music I studied piano as well as voice. I love helping complete beginners to achieve a really solid technique to help them move on to greater things.

I've been taking lessons with Victoria for a few years. I have progressed from Grade 1 and am now tackling Grade 4. She's good with adult learners like me, and pays attention to detail in one's playing to help bring the music alive. She's also a professional musician, which I think is important if you want to progress beyond grades.

My favourite part of my job is our student concerts. I get the opportunity to see what all our students have been working on with their teachers and how well they are all getting on! I also love getting great feedback from a new student after a first lesson with a teacher I have recommended.
When I because fully booked with my own piano teaching I didn't like to turn students away so started working with a couple of other local teachers and recommending students to them. From here the business grew very naturally and 11 years later Forte Piano Teachers has become a wonderful collective of teachers with a wide range of teaching styles and specialisms.
I work hard to make sure all the teachers that we work with are highly qualified and love to teach the piano! Our teachers have chosen a career in teaching and want to commit to their students in the long term. Many of the teachers who joined us in the early years are still teaching with us today.
Our students concerts are also a great reason to be a part of Forte Piano Teachers, every student learning with us has the opportunity to perform our concerts!
Absolutely, all of our teacher continued to teach online during lockdown and almost all have continued to teach some students online.
