Reese Manglicmot

My name is Reese Manglicmot and I have been playing Piano and Violin for the majority of my life and have performed in a variety of places, from formal recitals and international competitions to more intimate outreach efforts. I have been taught by some of the best teachers, experiencing a variety of styles from a more relaxed ABRSM-based approach to approaches aimed at professional musical development. I want to share my experience and help others achieve their musical goals through a focused, holistic and above all, enjoyable means. By 12 years old, I completed all grades of the ABRSM exam board in Piano and Violin, receiving distinctions in my Grade 8 exams, so I can teach up to and even above this standard. I can also teach up to Grade 5 theory, because it is a requirement to pass this exam before taking exams above Grade 6. However, exams are not always the best option for everyone, because true musicality and art transcends an exam certificate. I will teach according to your aims and needs, because I believe this will give the best result for you. Lessons will be gentle and fun, but expect yourself to be challenged to reach your goals. Creativity and imagination is always encouraged. I will also set some theory, aural and general listening work to keep your mind ticking in between lessons, as I aim to give a wholesome approach to instrumental and general music teaching. Whether you are just learning to read the notes or learning complete Beethoven sonatas, I will be with you every step of the way. I hope that I will be able to introduce and enrich you with the wonderful world that is Music, and that we will be able to start a new path together.

What do you love most about your job?

My life mission is to make people smile through music and I love my job because I am able to see the smiles from the sheer joy of playing the piano and enjoying music. Sometimes, it's hard, especially when things get rough and a bit tricky, but the satisfaction once a solution has been found is priceless and is a driving force to do more and a further inspiration on top of the obvious benefits of playing and enjoying music.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Ever since I was younger, I always admired my teachers for giving me the support, inspiring a love of music and imparting their knowledge for me as a growing musician, so much that I wanted to become a teacher myself. I do not view this as a business, but more as a moral obligation to allow as many people to experience the joys of playing and appreciating music through the piano.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am a passionate and dedicated teacher, who is able to offer high level guidance and support to all students at a low price. Many classical piano teachers who teach students who are looking for a career as a pianist offer lessons at £60, sometimes even £120 per hour, but I can offer the same services at £15 per half hour. I do not believe in teaching 'for the money' - I believe in teaching for the joy shared between teacher and student.
