Enjoyment and a love of singing are at the core of all my lessons. No matter what we do as people, we have to enjoy it if we are going to stick with something. In addition to this, I have specialist knowledge of the voice as I am a voice science researcher doing a PhD which allows me to teach strong technique and understanding of the healthy use of the voice across multiple styles.

I started taking singing lessons in Bristol with Katy over the summer. Katy has been an excellent teacher, her lessons had me go from being tone deaf and never having sung before to being able to match pitches frequently and perform whole songs within 3 weeks! The lessons were very relaxed and Katy provided a calm and reassuring atmosphere that got rid of any nervousness or apprehension I had about singing beforehand. Her vast knowledge of singing techniques, exercises and styles left me confident that I was in good hands.

Very experienced piano teacher offering lessons from beginner to advanced. Developing musicianship, playing by ear and creativity, whilst working through a grade syllabus
I am a friendly, classically trained piano teacher with more than 35 years of teaching experience. I started my business after graduating from a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in one of the most prestigious schools of Music in Manila, Philippines where I was born and raised. I moved to Bristol in 2008 and have continued my piano tuition in a lovely town, Keynsham, in the outskirts of Bristol and Bath. I teach beginner to advance piano. I prepare students for piano exams and am registered with both ABRSM and TRINITY exam boards. I have a 100% pass rate with most students passing with merit or distinction. I teach to make the grades or just for leisure. My main goal in teaching is for students to enjoy playing the piano and loving music. Since the pandemic, I have also decided to teach online and continue to do so. I offer both online and face to face (in-person) tuition. Face to face tuition is done in my residence in Keynsham. I do not travel to students’ homes. I teach both children and adults, age ranging from 6 - 75 yrs.
The best part of my job is seeing my students develop in their playing. Enjoying the pieces they play and above all loving the piano and music especially classical music. I love the chemistry I have with all my students and how easy it is for them to communicate with me.
I have been teaching piano for more than thirty years, thus, starting my business more than thirty years ago. I always loved teaching children and Music. This is the reason why I went into Music Education. Moving to the UK in 2008 and starting my business here I started accepting adults, too. And it has been such a pleasure teaching adults especially beginner adults.
I am a friendly and patient teacher. I always make it a point to make my students feel comfortable when learning the piano with me.
I teach both online and face to face.
Online tuition: the platforms I use are the following:
FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp, Zoom
Face to Face (in-person) Tuition: teacher’s residence (I don’t travel to students’ homes)
COVID-19 Safety Guidelines is sent in an email to all my students doing face to face tuition.
