We married at the Sitwell on one of the hottest days of the year, 7/7/18!! A massive thankyou to Jo-Anne our lovely wedding co-ordinator, who made sure our day was perfect for us. You went above & beyond with all the little details, and we just can't thank you enough. Also to all the sitwell team who were so friendly, helpful & worked tirelessly despite the heatwave. The beautiful venue, grounds & food were all loved by everyone & it definitely won't be the last you see of us!
Lots of love

She is highly professional and clearly loves her work, I couldnt have wished for anyone better to be our photographer and all round support for our wedding day -she works above and beyond . We have seen a preview of our big day and as we knew the photos we've seen look absolutely amazing as always thank you xx we will definitely be looking to have our next cake smash shoot with Michelle

The number one question I get asked as an Open producer is “How do I take better photos?
Here's a quick rundown of my top tips:
1. Get in close
It was the famous photojournalist Robert Capa who once said: “If your photographs aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.” He was talking about getting in amongst the action. If I feel like my images aren’t ‘popping’, I'll take a step or two closer to my subject, fill the frame with my subject and see how much better the photo will look without so much wasted space. The closer you are to the subject, the better you can see their facial expressions too.
2. Shoot every day
The best way to hone your skills is to practice, a lot. Shoot as much as you can. It doesn’t really matter what you shoot. Spend hours and hours behind your camera. As your technical skills improve over time, your ability to harness them to tell stories should too.
3. See the light
Before you raise your camera, see where the light is coming from, and use it to your advantage. Whether it is natural light coming from the sun, or an artificial source like a lamp; how can you use it to make your photos better? How is the light interacting with the scene and the subject? Is it highlighting an area or casting interesting shadows? These are all things you can utilize to make an ordinary photo extraordinary.
4. Framing
This is a technique to use when you want to draw attention to something in your photograph. By framing a scene or a subject, say with a window or an archway, you lead the viewer’s eye to the primary focal point.
5. Be present
This means making eye contact, engaging, and listening to your subject. With the eyes – lower that camera and be human. Bring the camera up for a decisive shot. But remember to lower it, like you’re coming up for air, to check in with your subject. Don’t treat them like a science experiment under a microscope. Being there with your subject shows them respect, levels the playing field in terms of power dynamics, and calms them down. You’ll get much more natural images this way.
1. What is the emotion, feeling or vibe you want to portray? Is it fun, playful, mysterious, cute, serious, etc...?
This is probably the most important question I will ask. Sometimes clients have given me a visual of what they want and then the emotion behind it and they conflict. It is my job to take emotion and interpret it.
2. What is the main purpose for choosing me as a photographer? What do you like about my images?
I need to know why they chose me. Is it because of my lighting, the feel of the images, the models I use, my photoshop work, my concepts, colors, energy? I ask this so that I know what to focus on while creating an image for them. Maybe they just picked me because they like the bright orange color I've used. What if I create a dark image for them? It's all about getting into the mind of the client and making sure they are completely happy with the end result.
3. How much TOTAL time will the client have for makeup, hair and photoshoot?
It's always important to ask! Don't assume.
No two days are ever the same.
One day, I might be doing a full day in the studio shooting products on a plain background for E-Commerce, the next day I might be heading to the other end of the country to shoot a vehicle portfolio or a real estate portfolio, after that, I might be photographing a child's first birthday and eating cake. Sometimes this can be challenging, but I wouldn't change it for the world.
