All training with Rachael, a female level 3 Personal Trainer who understands the pressures of everyday life, and how that can impact on your fitness and diet. All training tailored to suit client's individual goals and ability with step by step progression. Training is usually a mix of cardiovascular exercise to increase your calorie burn and resistance exercise to promote the development of lean muscle to give that 'toned-up' effect. All nutritional advice based on the principles of a balanced, healthy diet - no fad diets! The aim is support long term sustainable weight loss. All equipment is provided and you will receive thorough instruction and guidance. Rachael believes that fitness should be fun, so whilst all training requires effort, it is also hugely enjoyable. You will want to keep coming back for more.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

Fully understanding the client's wants and needs is key to helping them to achieve their fitness goals. If you thoroughly understand your client and their lifestyle you are able to keep the motivation levels high which in turn helps them to achieve their goals. You need to provide support to your client when the going gets tough so that they can come out the other side stronger. That is why all training and nutritional advice given by Take Steps Personal Fitness is tailored to each client's individual needs and lifestyle - no 2 clients are alike.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

It depends very much on what your 'body of dreams' looks like. Everyone has a different perception. For me it is much better to concentrate on getting fitter and healthier, losing some weight and body fat along the way than focussing on trying to look like the shots on Instagram (which are often 'touched up'). But to generally get leaner a combination of cardio exercise (stuff that gets your heart pumping) and resistance work (free weights, bodyweight moves, resistance machines) together with a balanced diet is usually most effective.

What do you love most about your job?

I am passionate about fitness and I love sharing that passion with others. The moment when a client realises that they have reached a goal is just incredible. It is brilliant to be able to be able to help others on their fitness/weight loss journey.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I came from a background of plus size fashion buying and was a keen runner and fitness enthusiast. It was whilst doing this job over a number of years and talking to customers that I realised there was a lack of fitness training that was combined with nutritional advice. There were gyms providing the fitness and company's like Slimming World looking at weightloss, but very little that combined both together. So I qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer, left my job in buying and embarked on my journey to help people reach their fitness and weight loss goals.
