My clients cover the age and fitness spectrum, and each of them are unique. But everyone is capable of achieving their goals if they're prepared to work for them. Ample rest between training sessions is also very important but is often neglected - more is not necessarily better.
There isn't really any secret to it - eat well, sleep well, drink plenty of water and train regularly. Add as much variety to your training as you can, and make each session challenging. Try to enjoy life, accept that sometimes things don't go to plan and don't waste energy trying to change things that you can't change.
It's a sad fact that many of my clients come to me for the first time after suffering a health scare or illness. Most are quite apprehensive about hiring a personal trainer at first and not sure what to expect, but it's extremely rewarding to put their minds at rest and to see them making steady progress.
