I am an experienced Personal Trainer with qualifications in Exercise Referral (medical conditions), Mat Pilates and Kettlebell workouts. Working from home, The Shed is a private, well equipped, purposeful environment with beautiful country views. I work with clients at their level on their personal goals.
I listen.
I support their fitness journey by teaching good exercise technique; explaining what they are doing and the benefits; challenging them to improve over time; varying the sessions to keep motivation; aim for enjoyment!
Oh ... and doing stretches to avoid soreness! Clients say they felt it, 'in a nice way'.
Dedication, determination, discipline.
Embrace what you have ... don't look for perfection but improvement.
I love helping people. My previous careers (veterinary nurse/school teacher) are both about nurture.
Psychology is also something I am fascinated by. What makes people tick? How can we overcome hurdles?
How can we turn an effort into a pleasure? Exercise has so many benefits that it will lead to feeling good!
My husband built The Shed and it is the perfect environment to train people who want privacy. I am self-motivated and passionate about helping others to change their lives. Having had other careers, I wanted a new challenge where I am learning all the time. I am a people person so I adapt to whoever I am working with.
Motivation, a great workout and feeling energised. I work with a variety of clients and I adapt to their needs. Each day is different so I will connect with my clients to get a feel for how they are as we begin the session. Clients learn a great deal about exercise, technique, benefits and avoiding injury. The time flies for both me and my clients and they say 'time flies when you're having fun!' It is important to enjoy sessions.
I hold Zoom classes twice a week but these are only for clients I know personally. I need to have confidence in their ability so will have coached them in person.
I supply hand sanitiser and have good ventilation. Mats are wiped down after use and equipment kept clean. I only have one-to-one or buddy training.
