Signed up Jan 2019 after training for years on my own and looking for something else to keep me interested in excercise. After some research found cfb was just around the corner and had been on the fence for some time about crossfit so decided to give it a go and have never looked back since. From the first fundamentals 1 on 1 class with Frenchi to make sure that you movement and form is right so don't hurt yourself once reach the classes (mine wasn't either a few bad habits picked up over the years) everyrhing was pointed out and ways to correct the imbalances were put to me. Once attended the first full wod with new school nerves I never looked back I was hooked. Yes it can be frustrating, yes it is hard and yes it's very very sweaty. But that said what in life is worth having if it comes easy. 6 months or so in and I am still learning still developing and still getting stronger and challenging myself in ways never thought would at start of the year. The coach is amazing and everything is done to get the best out of you but safely (he sees everything to so no cheat reps ) there is a real community with everyone that goes there and been made to feel welcome and part of that group from day one could not recommend cfb any more than I do for anyone looking for a new challenge or even just start g out on their journey Into fitness.

After working with a Mindset Coach for the last two years, and achieving some major bigger picture goals in my life, one of the few hurdles to jump over was the 'fitness' one, which I have been ignoring for 42 years!
I found The Fat Loss Co (aka Joel) on Bark and read some of his clients previous reviews, thus I am hoping this review will help others.
I liked the fact that Joel could come to your home/office (I have tried and failed to embrace the gym culture, and just do not enjoy it or have the time to go), can be flexible with training days/times which fit around me running two businesses, and has certifications and qualifications in fitness and nutrition.
I know having a professional support partner and an accountability partner works, thus it was easy to reach out to Joel.
We started training on February 1st 2024, set some goals, and my main goals were to a) lose 3 stone (19kgs) in weight in six months (I was 15 stone 7lbs when we started, and I am a 5ft 7" 43 year old male to add some context), b) embrace exercise and build it in to my daily routine by moving it in to the working day, so I can actually 'enjoy' it, c) to improve body shape/definition, and finally d) to improve my eating and sleep patterns.
Nearly four months in and I have lost 2 stone (12.7kgs) with Joel's training and support , my body shape and definition has completely changed, I have a new found confidence, and exercise is a welcome daily addition to my routine. Additionally, I am on course to hit our target by the end of month six (July 31st).
We train three times per week and Joel has taught me some exercise and fitness routines to fill the other four days of the week, so I now train seven days a week (even when I stay in hotels for work). For context I did not train at all, until February this year!
Joel has also provided a full nutritional analysis and given me tips on how to improve my eating/drinking habits and what foods compliment the goals we have set. However, can I also balance this with saying Joel understands I have a busy social/work life, and I do not operate on a tee total week from a nutritional perspective! Other PTs have tried to get me in the past to give up everything and then there is no enjoyment or motivation to achieve any set goals, and it is simply also not achievable and goes straight into 'the too difficult box'!
I am so pleased with the progress to date and I genuinely enjoy working with Joel, he is also a really nice guy (which helps). The other major wins for me are improved confidence, increased motivation, increased dedication, and improved sleeping patterns.
The only downside to working with Joel is making sure you budget (financially) for a complete new wardrobe of clothes (every couple of months), as none of mine fit now!!!
I look forward to smashing our six month target and then setting some new goals for the next six months!
