I had decided it might be good for me to work with a male therapist, however Nina was the first to contact me and i knew immediately we just clicked. I had tried many other therapies but knew I still had issues. She really surprised me with what she fed back to me about myself but she was right! She was very flexible with times. She worked in a way that really suited me, I confided in her and our work together started. I began to see changes in myself very quickly. Nina was truely amazing, helping me turn my life and my outlook on life around. I would highly recommend her. I know I will never slip back to the version of me I once was because I have learned a new, more positive way of being me. Thank you for everything Nina xx

Matt is a quiet, unassuming person but he has the ability to make you believe in yourself. He inspires you, he cares about you, he believes in you. With his encouragement I entered the 10k at Lytham. I wouldn’t have done it without his (and other members of the Walx Preston team). He also has the ability to bring people together. He set up Walx Preston a few years ago. I joined in 2017 and have been a member ever since.
Through Matts leadership the group has not only grown in membership but in a varied choice of activities for people of all levels. We are not just a group of friends who ‘go walking’ we are a very friendly and helpful group and have formed lasting friendships throughout the years we have known each other, and continue to welcome new members on an almost daily basis. This is due to Matts leadership and ability to bring out the best in people.
I’m proud to be a member of Walx Preston and I’m proud to say that Matt is a friend who’s support and help has been very valuable whenever I’ve needed it.
Thank you Matt.

I have had therapy in the past but I could never seem to find anything that worked so I gave up. My best friend told me about Paula so I went along to meet her. She is warm, welcoming, and very understanding. I was actually really looking forward to starting my sessions with her. I booked one session initially, but I enjoyed it so much that I booked a block of 6. I have just booked another 6. Paula's approach is different from counsellors and her life experience makes her far more qualified than anyone else I have come across.

I began my career as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS specialising in mental health and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Over a decade I developed my skills in CBT and a wide variety of therapeutic techniques. I am an excellent listener and seek to understand individuals, provide supportive challenge and work with them to achieve the change they want. Later in my career, I also worked in consultancy in both the Public and Private sectors. I led teams and facilitated leadership development and change management training to upskill individuals in how to manage change, develop their leadership skills and set goals. I have been a Director in a software development agency and volunteered to sit on the governing council of my local hospital and as a dog walker in the homeless dog shelter near my home. I bring all of this experience in CBT, coaching, leadership and mentoring together to support and challenge those I work with to help them move forward towards what they want to achieve. My aim is to seek first to listen and then to be understood. What I mean by this, is that my role is to listen to you firstly and then together we facilitate a way forward that will get the best out of our sessions together. I am very friendly and approachable but highly professional. I believe passionately in the power of coaching and mentoring with a balance of support and challenge so that you get what you want and need from our time together. I work primarily remotely but at times work face-to-face. I offer you all of my experience and a broad mix of soft and hard skills combined specifically just for you, so you get the best from me. I work with individuals and teams - (see my photos further down the page). Personally, I enjoy training for triathlon and duathlon and love to go out trail running in the hills.
*Meeting new people
*Learning from them
*Sharing my knowledge, skills & experience
*Supporting change & development
I worked in the NHS as a health professional for several years and then moved into consultancy work. I then spent some time working in the private sector in a software development agency that I co-owned. After many years I decided to develop my coaching and consultancy work but this time as part of my own business. Working for myself suits my life choices, providing me with the flexibility to train in triathlon and duathlon and I get immense satisfaction from helping other people to progress and grow on their chosen development path both in life or professionally.
I am not unique by any stretch, but I am quite rare in that I have a breadth of experience across mental health experience, public sector and private sector work. I have a long history of coaching and mentoring employees and leaders and have worked with individuals as well as groups and in large organisations and I am genuinely happy to help anyone who truly wants it. I am very friendly and down to earth but highly professional and organised at the same time
My services are all available online and remotely and sometimes face to face depending on location.
I use Zoom, Microsoft teams and Slack as well as other platforms as you need.
