Great Expectations

I began my career as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS specialising in mental health and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Over a decade I developed my skills in CBT and a wide variety of therapeutic techniques. I am an excellent listener and seek to understand individuals, provide supportive challenge and work with them to achieve the change they want. Later in my career, I also worked in consultancy in both the Public and Private sectors. I led teams and facilitated leadership development and change management training to upskill individuals in how to manage change, develop their leadership skills and set goals. I have been a Director in a software development agency and volunteered to sit on the governing council of my local hospital and as a dog walker in the homeless dog shelter near my home. I bring all of this experience in CBT, coaching, leadership and mentoring together to support and challenge those I work with to help them move forward towards what they want to achieve. My aim is to seek first to listen and then to be understood. What I mean by this, is that my role is to listen to you firstly and then together we facilitate a way forward that will get the best out of our sessions together. I am very friendly and approachable but highly professional. I believe passionately in the power of coaching and mentoring with a balance of support and challenge so that you get what you want and need from our time together. I work primarily remotely but at times work face-to-face. I offer you all of my experience and a broad mix of soft and hard skills combined specifically just for you, so you get the best from me. I work with individuals and teams - (see my photos further down the page). Personally, I enjoy training for triathlon and duathlon and love to go out trail running in the hills.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I worked in the NHS as a health professional for several years and then moved into consultancy work. I then spent some time working in the private sector in a software development agency that I co-owned. After many years I decided to develop my coaching and consultancy work but this time as part of my own business. Working for myself suits my life choices, providing me with the flexibility to train in triathlon and duathlon and I get immense satisfaction from helping other people to progress and grow on their chosen development path both in life or professionally.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am not unique by any stretch, but I am quite rare in that I have a breadth of experience across mental health experience, public sector and private sector work. I have a long history of coaching and mentoring employees and leaders and have worked with individuals as well as groups and in large organisations and I am genuinely happy to help anyone who truly wants it. I am very friendly and down to earth but highly professional and organised at the same time

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
