Hi there! James here. I'm a passionate, personable and creative music teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Music from the Institute of Education at UCL, and a Music Degree with 1st Class Honours from the University of Manchester. I play trombone, guitar, piano and I sing, and I write music for picture (using Logic Pro X) too. I grew up with parents both working as music teachers and choral conductors, and all five of us children played at least two instruments, so I've experienced the full range of what it means to learn music.

With 20+ years experience of music teaching across a range of settings I offer a flexible tailored approach to learning for the individual from pre-school age to adult. All enquiries welcome!

AB Music Academy offers specialist voice and instrumental tuition in both contemporary and classical music. We teach: piano, violin, acoustic/electric/bass guitar, ukulele, saxophone, clarinet, flute, drums, classical/modern singing. Music theory classes for adults and children are available on a weekly basis. West London Ukulele is a group lesson part of ABMA which encourages people of all ages to come and enjoy music in a social way.

I am a qualified Piano and Theory Teacher offering personalized lessons to students in SE London in person, and online. I’ve been teaching students of all ages and have more than 10 years of experience. I love teaching and am committed to helping students discover and reach their full potential. I started studying piano and theory at the age of 8. I continued my studies at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre where I received a Masters degree in electroacoustic composition.

I travel to most area's and teach guitar, piano, drums and singing. I teach kids & adults, beginners through to advanced levels. I'm DBS certified and I'm an accredited tutor with 'My Guitar Lessons'. If close to my home I often offer the first lesson for FREE! I began teaching in 1979 (aged 19) and will teach at all levels. While theory and technical exercises are necessary, these will be kept to a minimum with the focus on playing the instrument .
