What do you love most about your job?

Supporting members of our community is such a rewarding job - the satisfaction of knowing that every day at work you are actively improving people's lives is a true blessing. Every day is different too, each of our clients are unique individuals and so everything we do is tailored to each person. We could be giving medication and assisting to shower in the morning and going for a walk in Horsforth park in the afternoon. The next day could be accompanying somebody to a GP appointment followed by a spot of baking - you can never be bored in this job!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I needed a business whereby I could make a positive difference to the lives of others (both Clients, their family, and our team members) easing their daily pressures and brightening their day. A business which really cared about its CareGivers and would improve people’s quality of life, rather than simply maintaining it. One, where I could go home, knowing that I had done some good, every day – you just can’t beat that feeling!
After many months of researching the care industry and a tough selection process, it was obvious that Right at Home was head and shoulders above the other domiciliary providers. I found there was a real need for high quality care here in North Leeds, and so I established the branch here in Horsforth which is an ideal base for serving our local communities in Yeadon, Rawdon, Guiseley, Bramhope, Otley, Adel, Alwoodley and surrounding areas!

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

As a CQC regulated social care provider we have always implemented a robust infection prevention & control policy. Every member of staff receives extensive Infection Prevention & Control training. We follow all government recommendations and provide NHS standard personal protective equipment to each of our staff. We risk assess each client and their home environment for COVID-19 and other airborne viruses and take appropriate steps to minimise those risks. We have a 100% record in staff COVID-19 vaccinations.
