What do you love most about your job?

At St Patrick Healthcare, being able to fulfil he requirements of our service users and their families by providing them with skilled and qualified staff for the job. Staff that have been DBS checked and being able to provide a service that will keep you satisfied, safeguard you from abuse, make sure you have dignity and respect so that you will be able to live your day to day life with as little difficulty and possible. We protect you from abuse and we promote equality and diversity.

What inspired you to start your own business?

As directors of St Patrick Healthcare, we both have over 20 years experience in General and Mental Health Nursing. After working so many years in healthcare, we discovered that some staff lacked the skills that are required working as a carer and working in large organisations like the NHS it was not easy to tailer certain attitudes and skills to suit the service users. In many cases it was about providing , 'a body' to cover a shift and not necessarily having the right person for the job. Many people were not treated with kindness and compassion in their day-to-day care and support. We decided to embark on a journey to start St Patrick Healthcare since we shared the same sentiments of care and compassionate for the public and our service users. We needed to make sure that people, and those close to them, feel they matter, and that staff listen to them and talk to them appropriately and in a way they can understand.
We needed to help service users to seek accessible ways to communicate with people when their protected and other characteristics under the Equality Act to reduce or remove barriers.
We agreed to support staff to know and respect the people they are caring for and supporting, including their preferences, personal histories, backgrounds and potential.
We want to provide care with care staff that show concern for people's wellbeing in a caring and meaningful way, and respond to their needs quick enough.
We want staff to understand and promote compassionate, be respectful and show empathetic behaviour within the staff team.

Why should our clients choose you?

We are a unique organisation with vast amounts of experience, knowledge and skills. We are flexible, available and always there when needed. We got ourselves registered so that we could be regulated by CQC so that we provide the best service to our service users and their families. We are open and transparent with our service users and their families. We are willing to learn and we learn from our mistakes.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

We do provide telephone support and we are open to new things. St Patrick Healthcare is flexible and always there to help if needed.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

All our staff continue to wear uniforms, they carry PPEs in their cars. All our staff have gone through infection control training which is a mandatory yearly training and they go through supervision and being reminded regularly about the importance of infection control especially when safeguarding service users from Covid-19. We have a policy on Covid-19 that we make sure all our staff read understand and follow.
