Learning any instrument should be a fun and rewarding experience, I am passionate about music and hope to pass this onto all the students I teach. I have been teaching guitar, bass and ukulele since 2000. Throughout this time, I have worked with several different organisations. These include the Derbyshire City and County Music Partnership, Sheffield Music service, HI Gain Guitar school and Harmony Music school.

Craig is teaching me to play the ukulele. I started playing when I retired. He has shown me lots of styles, including classical music, blues, recent pop, etc. He has got me playing music that I never thought I could play.. He doesn’t waste time. He has me playing throughout my lessons. . I finish every lesson feeling confident and enthusiastic. He is a treasure.

Rob is an excellent guitar teacher and through him I have developed my knowledge and techniques slowly but soundly over the last 2 years. Rob adapts to the student's interests and at the same time introduces new material and challenges, showing a great breadth of knowledge across the musical spectrum. I took early retirement 2 years ago and I have not looked back on my decision to play the guitar. This is wholly due to Rob's encouragement and capacity as a teacher, to bringing out the best in the individual. Krys

Here you can buy instruments and musical paraphernalia including guitars, amps, straps, clarinets, accordions etc. You can also get music lessons for piano, guitar, drums, saxophone, flute, clarinet and singing. They also do repairs in house, which they take a great deal of care over. Always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

I just wanted to send in a review about Shaun. He’s great!! He has been teaching my 2 sons guitar for a few months now and they absolutely love their lesson every single week. He has taken one boy from being disheartened with his previous lessons to creating a love for playing again. Shaun is so attentive and plans individual lessons that he knows they will enjoy (from Ed Sheeran to Beatles to AC/DC!). It also helps that he’s a blade and can chat footy as well!

Mark lee is an amazing Drum teacher and I am lucky to have been taught by mark for many many years. He has taken me through grade 3 to my distinction at grade 8, and still continues to inspire and teach me with every lesson in the years since. I would strongly recommenced him to any passionate drummer of any ability, whos interests span any style. With his appreciation of good technique, but of course musicality, which is what its all about, he will make a great drummer out of you.

I am an established, experienced guitar teacher, offering private tuition in classical/Spanish, acoustic, electric and bass guitar. I teach all styles and levels, from beginner to advanced, and all ages welcome- from very young children to adults. I teach from a purpose built teaching room at home, during weekdays, Mon-Fri. I provide a reliable, welcoming and encouraging teaching environment, where pupils can choose themselves if they would like to sit exams, or simply learn to play for fun. I have also taught guitar and bass guitar in several local schools, at both primary and secondary level. I can teach both standard music notation and guitar and bass TAB. I learned to play guitar myself from a young age, and was taught by several of the best private teachers in Sheffield. I completed Grade 8 level on both classical and bass guitar, and also completed GCSE and A Level music, as well as studying music at university level. I set up my teaching business at the age of eighteen, gradually growing and establishing it over the years. I continued to study music further through university courses and gained performing experience playing in local bands and gigging. I specialise in teaching young children, retired adults and complete beginners. I also am fully DBS checked. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I can now offer video lessons online, via Zoom or FaceTime.
I love meeting pupils and establishing a good rapport in lessons. I enjoy encouraging and helping pupils of all levels, abilities and ages to explore their interest in playing the guitar. It’s rewarding to see pupils gain in confidence as they develop new skills. I also love that many of my pupils have lessons for several years and I often get to know or teach other members of their families, too.
I always loved music and playing different types of guitar myself, starting from the age of seven. My hobby gradually developed into a deeper interest, as I practiced more and more, kept improving, passing exams and performing in bands. I had private lessons myself growing up and was taught by the best teachers in my area. They encouraged and inspired me to start teaching and I received lots of helpful advice when I was first starting out.
I have lots of patience and always strive to be relaxed, welcoming and encouraging. I structure my lessons around each pupil individually and let them learn at their own pace, instead of insisting on just one approach for everyone. I emphasise playing for enjoyment and I’m happy for pupils to choose if they want to sit exams or simply play for fun. I also specialise in teaching very young children and complete beginners.
I am also fully CRB checked.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I can now offer video lessons online, via either Zoom or FaceTime.
I have a purpose built teaching room at home on the ground floor, so pupils don’t need to enter the main heart of my home and are quite separate. I provide hand sanitizer when arriving and leaving and also sit further apart in lessons. Everything gets thoroughly cleaned at the end of each teaching session.
I’m also more than happy for pupils to wear face masks during lessons, if they prefer.
As well as lessons in person, I now also offer video lessons online, via Zoom and FaceTime.
I have received both of my COVID-19 vaccines and take part in regular self testing.
