My name is Josh and I am an experienced bass guitar teacher. Through my career of teaching bass guitar, I have developed my own style of teaching that has proven extremely effective with my students. Rather than focusing solely on theory, or just learning songs from tabs, I like to tailor each individual teaching session to my student and what they want and need. As a result of this, my students look forward to their lessons as it's a chance to progress and challenge themselves, while also enjoying playing their instrument.

Josh has been a fab teacher for my son! He's been patient, knowledgeable, adaptable to my son's learning needs and has always been absolutely professional, with excellent communication with me as a parent. My son has made mentions that Josh has been fun to work with, that he has always felt he had patience with him with his learning and that 'Josh is pretty cool'.....high praise from a teenager I'd say! Highly recommend if you're looking for a bass guitar instructor (or other instrument if he teaches it!)

A massive thank you Daren for your amazing playing on our wedding day....you created such a wonderful atmosphere with all of your beautiful songs. It really helped to set the tone of the day and was very romantic.
The rain outside didn't matter with your lovey playing. We will be recommending you whenever we have the chance.
Best wishes
Lucy & Dan :)

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Steve as a guitar teacher. He has been teaching my son for just over a year and has shown great professionalism and patience throughout. He has also been flexible when asked regarding changing times and days of lessons and my son has always been happy to attend his lessons. Definitely deserving of 5 stars - thank you Steve!

As a result of this, my students look forward to their lessons as it's a chance to progress and challenge themselves, while also enjoying playing their instrument. You only need to take a look at my lesson reviews to see this! Away from teaching, I have a successful and busy calendar as a working musician. From functions to theatre pits, weddings to cruise ships I have regular experience in the industry. This is not only great for me, but also my students, as they get an honest look into what it's like to be a professional musician. I have been able to give advice to students wanting to get gigs, build a great live tone and even what bass to buy! All of this ensures when a student takes up lessons with me, they not only get great, engaging bass lessons, but also the opportunity to draw on my experience and knowledge and help them become amazing, well rounded musicians!
What I love most about being a musician is the community that you become a part of as you grow as a musician. As a teacher, it is important to me to remember my own musical background, and inspire those who are finding music to become the best that they can be.
I was inspired to start teaching, as I enjoy seeing new generations of musicians finding and engaging with music as I did when I first started playing my instrument. As a freelance musician I can also share my first hand experiences in the music industry, and give useful advice to my students on how best to progress as a bassist and musician.
Unlike some tutors, I do not have a rigid teaching style that I stick to. I make sure to find out about each student and personalise the lessons to suit. Everyone likes different music, wants to play different styles and learns in different ways, so it is important to me that each individual's lessons reflect that.
Yes, I can teach my lessons remotely via Skype, meaning no matter where you are, you can take lessons with me.
