I just wanted to send in a review about Shaun. He’s great!! He has been teaching my 2 sons guitar for a few months now and they absolutely love their lesson every single week. He has taken one boy from being disheartened with his previous lessons to creating a love for playing again. Shaun is so attentive and plans individual lessons that he knows they will enjoy (from Ed Sheeran to Beatles to AC/DC!). It also helps that he’s a blade and can chat footy as well!

Went to Crazy Train to have pickups swapped in a relic of a Rockwood LP, not only were Crazy Train the cheapest place in the Derbyshire/Notts area, but they turned it around in a day as well as did a quick restring and setup. They didn't mind that I bought my own pickups - despite their extensive range of Seymour Duncans (a beginner like myself wouldn't notice the difference, much. After some fiddling around with the switch and dealing with a messy solder job left from the previous owner, Crazy Train sorted out my guitar in a single day and charged very little.Above all though, reason to recommend the place is the friendly service. Very down to earth, honest and out to make an honest living, rather than charging the earth. Great place, great service!

Not only do I love playing guitar, but I love the pleasure I get in seeing students develop and the joy it brings them playing on of the worlds most popular instruments.
People who saw me play, origionaly inspired me by asking me to teach them. I taught part time at first. However, I was getting great feedback and more and more requests that I needed to go full time.
I teach in a different way to most tutors.
I remember, when I was younger, I would go to my guitar Teacher, then come home and not pick it up my guitar straight away. When I finally picked it up to practice, I couldn't always remember what my teacher Had taught me, the handouts where hand written and not always easy to follow. As a result of this, I wanted to work out the best way to help people learn. I came up with the idea of using recording equipment. I am able to take sections of music that the student wants to learn and create loops from that section slowing it down and gradually speeding it up as the student becomes more comfortable. It's much more fun learning to play this way. Once you've learned a piece you can also record it and make up your own album if work. I can guarantee that a beginner will play along to a backing track in the first lesson.
The studio equipment is also used as part of my audio restoration service and recording artists.
If you're not sure of anything I can do a spoken summary.
After each lesson you receive emails containing professional handouts in PDF format and audio of the tracks you need to practice to including any spoken summary to remind you what you need to do. This way you can replay the lesson over and over again.
