It is a year since I first contacted Rose and Thistle. Shortly after this I had an operation and put the work on hold. Kerri, who was my point of contact sent a warm message back asking after my health and showed great empathy which I remarked upon. She said they consider all their clients as people; not just another job opportunity. Her messages were warm and displayed great empathy. I was so touched by this that I said when the time was right to ask for a quote I would not be approaching any other company. Anthony and Sharon arrived on time and spent a while with me and we chattered away quite happily. There was no 'rush in and out' to go elsewhere; they offered a number of ways the work could be carried out and measured both the front garden and back patio. They also encouraged me to contact different companies to get a price comparison and ways in which the work might be improved upon. There was no need. I had made up my mind the year before that this personal approach by a local team meant I would be more than happy to accept their quotation and one of the options. As a family business they treated me with kindness; and understanding of my disabilities. I had told Sharon that I had been subject to rogue traders frequently. She checked my doors were safe and made me promise to lock them and the windows even when I was at home. Beyond that, she made sure I locked myself in before they left. She also said if I had any doubts about approaches by other companies to do work they did not themselves undertake she would check they were bone fide and even talk to them so she would be assured I was not being conned. That was so thoughtful I automatically felt this team was trustworthy and genuinely concerned for my safety from disreputable tradesmen. The personal touch was evident in their emails and I knew they would do their utmost best to provide me with excellent results. The team spent the weekend working hard in the blistering sun. They even provided me with a carousel clothes line to save me searching for one and didnt even charge for their time or petrol in doing this. They also went away to buy different materials than those offered in the quotation when I wanted an upgrade and did not charge for the additional time and petrol involved. They took photographs of the condition of my front and back gardens and photographs of the finished work. I really don't think their work ethic or standards, warmth and humor could have been provided by another organization to the same degree. My gut reaction from the very first connection was that I would not be disappointed. And I wasn't. I was more than delighted with the finish. They were thorough and so good natured. The difference between before and after the work is remarkable and I would encourage anyone any one to engage them. They were respectful of my carpets when they needed to come into the house and even wouldn't carry the garden waste through the house but walked around a link of garages to dispose of it in my designated garden waste wheelie bin. They treated my property as they would their own. In fact they have my deep respect, and I cannot find any fault in their kindness and expertise. I was proud of what they achieved. On leaving, Sharon and Kerri made sure I locked myself in the house before they walked through the gate. You just HAVE TO contact them if you need any of the services they provide. It is wide ranging and I have asked them to carry out other work inside the house and have also booked them for interim garden maintenance. I would go as far as to say you should use this team even were you to get a lower quote. I doubt I would have got a better price but I know I would not have been treated so well by any other company. It was a joy to meet with them and I actually missed them when they finished the work. Trust me. And if not, ask to see the before and after photographs as a picture speaks a thousand words. Trust the pictures!!!! BOOK THEM

Absolutely delightful. Due to various reasons my garden had gotten over grown and on top of that was needing winter shut down and where it all looked so awful was making me feel really overwhelmed and anxious. Thanks to Chris, it now looks amazing, it’s all pruned back for winter and pleasing to be in (should we get any more sunny days). Already booked him to come back in spring for the next evolution of my garden. Highly recommended

Jo made himself available on the same day. Listened to my requests and gave advice on how to maintain longterm. Jo was child friendly which is helpful when you're juggling young children. Took garden rubbish away. Was happy to take contactless payment and work within Government Guidelines. Would recommend and will use again when needed.
