Generally Most brick Built garages are suitable for conversion particularly if attached to the main house as easier for supplies etc to be run in. Some very old pre-fabricated garages are generally not worth spending the money on as most have Asbestos roofs and roof height is low so can cause problems when insulating the floor. In some cases we have recommended to knock it down & build a New timber structure as more cost effective but once we look at each job we will give our Honest opinion what we think is viable and cost effective.

Most garage conversions will not need planning permission just Building regulations but this depends on many things. If you have a New build property quite often there is a covenant on the Deeds stating you are not allowed to convert the garage or change the appearance of the house for 10 years! always check this first on your Deeds & with the developer. Sometimes they will allow it as long as you keep the main garage door in place & block up from behind. If Planning is required it can take upto 2 months. If you wish to convert it to a bedroom with a bathroom then you may need planning and also if in a conservation area by changing the look of the front of house. If no planning is required then Only Building regulations we deal with the complete process in-house as we have an independent accredited Building Inspector we use on a regular basis and we have set construction procedures and details pre-agreed with how we carry out all types of garage conversions to it will comply to the latest regulations. We arrange this with them on your behalf and they will visit in the early days of commencement and then on final completion, we will also take photographic evidence of the the construction methods used to send to them & keep on file. All the electrical works will be certified by our highly experienced contractor and a copy of the certificate will be sent to the building inspector before they will release a completion certificate.
If full planning is required then we can arrange that for you too.
We have a great Team of different trades working for us and they all work to the highest standards, I myself project manage all jobs daily. We use the best quality products on the market to achieve in particular the best insulation values especially where garages are concerned, Unfortunately some companies use cheaper methods to just achieve the minimum standard but we are always above minimum requirements.
We can discuss projects over the phone or online & sometimes estimate costs but obliviously cannot carry out the work.
We are extra careful now on projects, All our trades have face masks to wear if they may be in close contacts with others on site or clients. They all have anti-bacterial Gel on board plus anti-bac wipes.
We will also supply our clients with a Gel pump plus wipes if they wish to use during or after we leave the job to wipe door handles down etc or touch points.
Ideally we prefer customers not to make us drinks so we are not using anyone's cups on site even though we would like too. All our men will eat their Lunch in their own vans & travel alone to the jobs.
