My name is Kevin Durman, I have been an angler for 40 years. I live in Ashford, Kent. As a youngster I spent so much time in the local tackle shop that they offered me a job, an anglers dream, working with fishing tackle all day long and meeting all the top local anglers. As the type of angler that wants to learn, their knowledge and skills rubbed off on me and my own angling ability improved. At the age of 20 i joined the Royal Navy where i served in the Submarine service, whilst in the forces I represented the Navy in a number of match fishing competitions. Through my youth I spent all my time fishing for Carp in the summer and Pike in the winter, the change in career with the Royal Navy meant less time for specimen angling so I started match fishing. On leaving the forces I continued with match fishing and fished at a much higher level entering national competitions and represented a number of the top match fishing sides in the south east. For the past fifteen years my attentions have returned to specimen angling. I spend a lot of my winter fishing for Pike and have caught them to over 30lb. For the rest of the spring summer and autumn my attentions turn to mainly Carp, I have now had in excess of 100 over 30lb to 40lb 4oz here in the UK and 73lb 2oz in France. I also fish for Tench, Bream and other fish of specimen size. I am sponsored by Korum and Sonubaits. I am now in a position to offer my skills as an angling coach. I am an Angling Trust level 2 licensed coach, a nationally accredited First4sport qualification. With my varied angling background I am happy taking an angler for his or her first trip to give them an introduction to angling or it may be that you are already an angler and wish to improve your range of skills to a more advanced level. I offer a range of options to suit you. My angling lessons are always about you and I aim to provide you with exactly the skills you require. All my coaching takes place around Ashford and Maidstone.
Teaching new anglers how to catch their first fish gives me a great thrill, from this i see them progress to a point where i am confident they can go it alone
A friend is a headteacher of a school with special needs pupils, he asked if i would be interested in taking his pupils anging. From that conversations 10 years ago i went on to complete the Angling Trust coaching badges. As a Licensed coach I now work with a number of Schools, Kent County Council, various Angling clubs running junior coaching days. One to one sessions with anglers wishing to advance their skills.
My experience in all areas of freshwater angling is extensive. I have competed at high level in Match fishing winning many competitions. A change to Carp fishing, again competing in Carp matches proved succesful, Carp tutorials are extremely popular. I now fish for big fish of all species. In winter Predator angling is popular.
No, its a very much "hands on" experience. I find with angling, Clients learn from doing rather than watching.
Innitially coaching was halted, we are now back. I am still mindful and use anti bac on equipment and use plenty of hand sanitizer.

An excellent half day with Beni on the Burn . Delightful surroundings combined with first class guidance and help from Beni . He helped with some tips and refined my technique . I would certainly go again ...and landed a large rainbow which must have escaped into the river .
