Primarily I offer drum kit tuition including learning songs, co-ordination, technique, reading skills, etc, all of which to an advanced i.e. professional level. Furthermore, I am interesting in identifying the best way a student learns, helping to develop a bespoke approach for each student. My studio is fully equipped with two drum kits: one right handed and one left. I also offer drum tracking(recording) services on a case by case basis again with a fully equipped set up.

Hi there! I'm currently offering private lessons from my studio in Manor House. Are you inspired to learn the drums but don't know where to start? Already play but feel stuck in a rut and don't know how to get better? Does learning from Youtube videos make things confusing? Do you want to learn in a way that isn't boring and feels like it's actually contributing to your musical goals?

A highly motivated and versatile musician offering services as a live and studio session musician (drums, guitar), producer, songwriter, engineer, and private tutor with an emphasis on musicality, sound and feel.
I am a freelance musician, providing services such as: drum tuition, (remote) studio recording, live performances, mixing and production, among others.
I love the feeling that I get when I play live and there is this inexplicable energy transfer between the audience and the performers (and between the performers themselves)!
I love building a piece of art from the ground up, watching it evolve and transform into something that one day will mean something (and even if it does to one other person, then it would have done its job).
I love the look on a person's eyes when they finally crack that exercise that we've been working on for a while, when they realise that they can sound like their favourite drummers or bands, that they can play the drums, and that it only gets better from then on!
I love the feeling of freedom and expression one gets when one sits behind the drums. At times in life we struggle to say things the way we want them to be heard, and it can be tough to express ourselves, but it all becomes so much easier on the drums (or any other instrument).
Hitting my mom's pots and pans is really the thing that started all of this.
It was pretty early in life that I realised that I wanted to be a drummer when I grew up, and this is still the dream that I am following. Every day.
This can encompass many things, like drum tutoring, performing live, recording drums, mixing and production. I love doing all of them, and I am incredibly thankful that I get to share my passion for drums and music with others.
I love what I do, and that shows. I like to bring that passion into everything I do, because I feel that it works to bring up motivation and a desire to get better.
I love both playing the drums, and transferring the knowledge I've acquired over the years to help other people play the drums, and my experience helps me to excel at both.
Yes.
My remote teaching setup consists of: a full drum kit, three useful, high-quality camera angles, professional sound quality and a virtual whiteboard.
All of these allow me to deliver lessons as, if not more, efficiently than in-person classes, with the added benefit of you having these in the comfort of your own home.
It is true that some of the immediacy of in-person lessons can be lost in an online environment. However, I believe that its benefits far outweigh the disadvantages:
- Thanks to my remote teaching setup, there is no loss of immediacy, flow or clarity;
- As travel is not a necessity, lesson times are more flexible, and prices are lower;
- You get to set up your drums or pads the way you like it - they will be as comfortable for you as possible, in your own home. I am happy to assist you with setting up your drums;
- Lesson materials are easier and quicker to share;
- There is a 0% COVID risk.
Lessons have moved to taking place online, through Zoom.
